That is what society has become. Because "they" have decided that women's football needs (deserves) parity with the men's game, they are going to ram it down our throats constantly. Like you, I have no problem with women playing the game, but there needs to be more honesty about the skill level and the mainstream appetite for it.

Ad in the paper today for a West Ham ladies game. West Ham season ticket holders can get in for £1. The normal adult price is £2, and each paying adult can bring up to 5 kids for free. As they say, money talks and the message here is obvious.

Not a great fan of either, but I will always have a soft spot for Sheared for that wee dance he did on the LBs head.

He does figure in the NI under 21s, so hopefully he doesn't want to play for the republic. I think he is only at Linfield on a one year contract.

Michael O'Neill hasn't included him in the NI squad for the upcoming friendly, which given the small pool we have to pick from is a bit of a surprise.

Why do you question the veracity of this?

Apart from turning down the extra money on offer by limiting us, this game was shown live nationally. If you are sitting in England watching this and see a half empty stadium, that is not going to give a very good impression of the state of the game in Scotland. Why would Sky pay more for tv rights when they can argue (admitedly incorrectlly) that no one wants to watch the games which is the impression a half empty stadium gives. It will hardly have sponsors queuing up to pump money in either.

I believe the US ladies team are currently taking legal action to get equal pay with the men's national team. That may work there as they are more successful on the world stage than the men, and ladies football is actually well supported in the US. This will lead to other national teams trying this, but the money or support (no matter what the BBC tell us) is not there. On the Saturday prior to the world cup my wee lad went to watch England v New Zealand at Brighton. Tickets cost £1 and they still couldn't fill the ground. Even Oxford United would hammer any ladies international all star team put before them.

Looks as though there will be lots of locals at the game. Like Chelsea and Arsenal, the ' corporate partners' are returning tickets as well. Holding the final in Baku looks like another uefa masterstroke.

Maybe SG should do a few articles with friendly reporters down here asking why competent and ambitious managers (and possibly players) would consider going to Scotland due to the constant favouritism shown towards one team. I am sure his dossier is quite thick by now.

Unfortunately I think you are correct. However, there does need to be a point in time when Rangers stand up to the sfa or we will forever be on the receiving end of decisions such as this. We do need to draw a line in the sand this time.

I am in the same position. They think i am making it up when i reel off tmy list of grievances such as incompetent/biased refs, corrupt compliance system, particularly the amount of things lego muncher gets away with, the favorable bias towards them by the council and the disdain of all things Rangers from the Scottish nazis. They were totally unaware of the whole bjk and paedophile situation at the club but are now reminded of it every time by me when sky or BBC do one of their regular puff pieces about the scum.
