  1. If this was actually accurate then we might as well sign mcculloch up for another 5 seasons. When you go into battle if your experienced warriors can no longer pick up their sword do you still send them out? Saying unless they have a howler ALL game is just ridiculous. It only needs one or two key mistakes to be made to justify being dropped. Continuing to play under performing players undermines the managers respect since players know they can get away with being awful and still get picked. The rest of the squad pick up on that and standards drop. You have to command respect you have no right to it by simply being manager, McCall said all the right stuff at the start but his actions tell another story.
  2. Nail on the head here. I'm fed up seeing perfectly justifiable points of criticism made only for it to be shot down as hate comments against the manager. Get your rose tinted specs off for a minute and actually compare the points against what we are seeing on the park.
  3. its not about liking or hating, it's about facts. McCall came in saying players would get a chance and would be dropped if they didn't perform. Where is the proof of this? The only time I can think this has happened was Templeton getting a game last Thursday then getting dropped after it. So on this basis why does Boyd still get selected on the bench and brought on when he's clearly not performing rather than giving Gallagher a go, who has scored more league goals than Boyd has in this division. If he keeps making the same mistakes and not learning from them then he only has himself to blame, not the players and his spell in charge will end in May
  4. I know the knives are getting sharpened for McCall on one side and on the other many are still citing the players however i struggle to support someone that fails to learn from their mistakes. McCall arrived stating that players would be given a chance and failure to take that chance would result in them being dropped as someone else would get a chance. My point is this, where is the proof of these words being fulfilled? Boyd on at 60 did nothing against QoS but last night once again Boyd is brought on at roughly the same time. If McCall had put Gallagher on last night and it didn't work out then at least he demonstrated the ability to learn. McCoist was guilty of this over and over again and it looks like McCall is going to do the same. I have lost my enthusiasm and respect for him. It doesn't matter if the other options aren't great, the point is it sets a clear message to the players and fans alike. If you don't perform you are out. He did it with templeton after his awful performance against QoS so why not with the others? For me I can't see McCall being the right man in the long haul and if he plays the same team at the weekend with the same subs that will just confirm my worst fears.
  5. The big challenge is winning in the play offs.
  6. If he gets the sack we still have to pay off the remainder of the contract so if we sacked him with 3 months to go he gets the 3 months pay not 12 like McCoist.
  7. Think all the reaction to last night was completely over the top. McCall has to be around til the end of the season, as for next year it will be up to the board on what they want to do. If McCall gets an extension id cap it at a year without 12 month notice. Provide him with goals and if he meets them another year or two is offered.
  8. Not sure if you'd include arteta in that bracket? He was 22 when he left us, hasn't been world class but certainly the closest you'll get to gattusos success after leaving us.
  9. Spot on mate. Players should be selected on merit and nothing else. It doesn't matter who you are, what successes you had in the past, meow nice a person you are, whether you are the captain or not.......if you aren't the best option for a position, from the available players, you shouldn't be played. I personally believe mcculloch wanted to get Rangers back to the premiership then call it a day. Captain the club to 3 successive promotions and then retire.

    Dj

What a shock, DJ backs his pal McCoist again. I for one am glad Templeton gave an honest reply to the questions asked. When you look at things like the half time routine, the hit the arse training sessions, the fact we could predict the line up and substitutions including when they would happen, it was clear to see mccoist was not up to it. He may as well have been playing football manager just hitting continue all the time. So many players regressed during their time here and now we know why. DJ is a fool for spewing out this predictable response.
  11. It's a difficult one to decide. On one hand it makes sense not to rush in and give him a deal now after 5 games. It's a fantastic turnaround but we haven't won promotion yet. If the board want to make a bold appointment e.g. Cathro and DoF, then it probably doesn't matter what mccall does. However, I think the board will be waiting until season end. On the other hand from mccalls point of view you have a team where 12+ players are out of contract.mthe decision on whether to keep any of them on or not will not be mccalls decision until he will be in charge for next year, or not. That also means that any plans for rebuilding are on hold until that point in time, meaning any potential free transfers can't be approached (though the best ones will already have been snapped up). I'd be tempted to get mccall to prepare a list of players he'd be keen on signing so at least if he does stay on he's already done that. Don't approach any of the players and just hope that no one else comes in for them if mccall does gain promotion and gets an extension. If we end up having money to spend then it will lessen the effect of no extension until season end.
  12. Momentum is key. Hibs falling apart and Stubbs rumoured to be a target for Wigan. Need the 11th place team to be dropping points and dropping heads. We need to claim 2nd place as convincingly as possible, get the fear factor back just in time for the play offs. imhonestly thought this was too big a task for mccall but he's well on the way to proving me wrong and showing that it was the previous "coaching" staff that caused these players to regress. Had mccall and black been in at the turn of the year we may well have been battling it out still for the title.
  13. Take all of this with a pinch of salt. The football and the general outlook has been rank rotten for the last few years, so when things start to improve I think we can be forgiven for getting a little carried away.
  14. Unlike the game in November we are in front, we are at home, hearts have won the league and most importantly mccall is in charge not mccoist. I think the second half will be nervy but we need to win this today and I think if mccall gets the adjustments right then we can do it.
  15. Meant to lead by example as captain, he just leads with the elbow. I just hope mccall can reshuffle the tactics to get the win.
  16. How about be men, acknowledge that they won the league then give them a hiding on the park
  17. So much for young defenders getting a chance here isn't even one on the bench! Mccall playing mind games with Cowdenbeath, injuries to youth or just not sticking to what he said.
  18. cant see this happening now. If we get promoted then there will immediately be an expectation that we are challenging again.....that expectation for me is way off but I think that's what the general consensus would be. With that being the case changing the football ethos of the club would result in a period of transition i.e. A period where we don't win games, trophies, leagues. It's anyone's guess how long that would be as it would depend on who was in charge and what players we have available. We can change it more gradually but with a new squad that would be the time to do it if we were. Sadly this could have been what we did in 2012 in division 3 but we didn't have someone in charge with any vision or ambition. Saying that the state of the playing surfaces in the lower leagues excluding artificial surfaces are hardly ideal for this style of football.
  19. I thought we needed wins against Alloa and Livingston to stand a chance of beating Hibs, so I'm over the moon we managed to achieve that result and a much better performance yesterday. I said if we beat Hibs then we plant seeds of doubt in their mind and hit form at the business end of the season. If say what is far more crucial is beating hearts in the rearranged game. If we reclaim second and create a gap I believe the psychological advantage is well and truly ours. Hibs will be wondering how they lost it. Hibs also have the Scottish cup semi on their minds soon enough. Keep the intensity in training, get fitter, gain more confidence and we may just be looking at a positive outcome to a dreadful season.
  20. its great to see him getting somewhere with the first team. I'd still like to see Gallagher get a shot up front, Hardie as well. Sinnamon could also do a job as a right wing back similar to Wallace today.
  21. One good performance and result won't turn the tide. The way the squad have let themselves go is a disgrace. McCall appears to be doing things right but until the season is over we won't know who deserves another chance. There are some that I clearly wouldn't keep on. Mcculloch, black, Boyd, Miller, mohsni, Daly, foster, smith, Simonsen, Robinson. ill reserve my judgement for a while since my judgement was off today after my knee jerk reaction to mccalls selection that I was sure would see us beaten.
  22. Vuckic signed a five and a half year deal in jan 2011. So out of contract next summer.
  23. Today showed that we can perform. If we can improve from here towards the end of the season then yes I think we can get promoted. What will be interesting is how Hibs now react to this defeat (first in 15) it might just rattle them and who knows maybe QoS or Falkirk will apply pressure on us both. At least I'll be looking forward to the run in now that mccall seems to have got something out of these guys. I'll be clear though, one win doesn't make up for a season of poor performances. We've got a battle on our hands but at least we know there is still a possibility of these guys performing.
  24. The key thing to note here is clearly mccall is capable of using different formations to give us the best chance of winning on the day. So I don't think 3-5-2 is necessarily what we'll now play every game. Under McCoist it was the same formation every game probably because he hasn't got a clue, doesn't mean mccall will be the same.
