  1. Possibly but it's not that straight forward. There would have been greater pressure to spend big and fast upon promotion to get a squad even capable of top 6, coupled with the £1m + outgoing bonuses would have made it very difficult. King himself alluded to the business & financial benefits of another yr in the chmp.
  2. Promotion would have meant 500k to Newcastle for the loanees, and big bonuses paid to McCoist, other backroom staff and the players. I fancy had we went up we'd have been skint with no squad and possibly even relegation candidates next season. We saved alot of money and have a year to tebuild the infastructure from top to bottom.
  3. Because his name starts with WAR. Exactly what we need, Rangers that have heart and battle fever again. Fired up for the new era.
  4. The Cathro obsession continues. Let Warburton pick his own coaches. Nobody goes from valencia no.2 to Scottish 2nd teir to coach.
  5. I just looked in on Kerrydale Street forum to see if that 50quid post was real. Stumbled across a debate on how Celtic FC should mark the 100 year anniversary of Easter Rising Absolute fucking creeps.
  6. Well aren't you all high and mighty. Like the duke of wellington with a cone your head. Pppaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-rick!
  7. Not the right man but i appreciate his efforts in trying to save our season. Wish him all the best in the future, i think he has takents as a coach and could improve as a tactician.
  8. If McCall gets appointed it says to me that Dave King isn't the right man to b owning Rangers. It would be a shocking business decision t ocarry on with what we have in a time where we just got stuffed 6-1 by the 2nd worst team in the SPL, that would seriously damage season ticket receipts.
  9. ironically for me the words "uncharted ground" go right off the forum/post. It was mildly amusing and i had a wee chuckle.
  10. What's the deal with the Cathro love? Is it because he's a young guy that got himself a coaching job at a reasonably high profile club? Is there anything more to it than that? I think people are just using Cathro as a focal point for their cravings for some fresh new thinking at Rangers. Giving such an inexperiences football coach a managers role here would be crazy right now.
  11. Giving McCall the job is a sure fure way to not sell STs.
  12. Maybe i've just not noticed but can't remember us playing these tunes before kick-off in a while? Anyone know if they still get played? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83K4Q1DJQ58
  13. Surely when u sit on the seat there's a bar obstructing your view?
  14. They've turned themselves into a premiership feeder club, wanyama, hooper and that big oaf they had in goal combined was in the region of 20-odd million. We're obviously miles behind, although i hear they've been burying debt for years. Meanwhile we've squandered our chance at a clean slate, blew 22m or so from the IPO on doubling everyone's wage for a promotion bonus from division 3. Installation of some shitty rails with plastic seats attached doesn't exactly ring any alarm bells that weren't already ringing.
  15. Their ground should have been the last ground to have that accepted. It's a steep, breezeblock deathtrap. A stadium like Ibrox or even a smaller ground with under 20k capacity would have been a safer bet for Standing-Section trials.
  16. Naismith making more money off Rangers. Fucking disgusting wee prick. Hope his knees give out soon.
  17. McCall? Really? I thought he was really poor.
  18. Cathro is a coach. I think it would be insane to appoint a coach as a manager, we need so much more than just someone coaching technical footballing ability, we need a Sir Alex Ferguson type, someone to gut the footballing side club from bottom to top but also have the stones to tell the board how things need to be done. In a bygone era we perhaps could have been in a position to pay the wage to tempt a young coach with potential away from a club like Valencia, but not right now.
  19. Personally I think Warburton is the best candidate put forward. A few reasons why; Not a former "Rangers man".Comes to the table having had great, immediate success with Brentford on a smaller budget that the rest of the ChampionshipNot a lot of experience but 2 seasons is a lot more than zero, which McCoist hadThe "City Trader" aspect could potentially bring an extra dimension or a fresh way of thinking to football managementFounded an international, well establish youth tournament, has a clear passion for youth developmentWorked in a Director of Football role before management, understands how a club is run, and has solid business credentialsReceived plaudits for his style of footballDedicated work ethic, gets players fits, likely disapproves of clocking off at pm for a Nando'sI'm also a fan of big Davie Weir, hopefully him as no.2 will satisfy the obsession some fans have with ex-players and 'Rangers men', he's a bit dull but a man of class and integrity. At this stage, for the above reasons, i think MW/DW are the best fit. If anyone wants to make the case against feel free, but I guess it's going to amount to; 'Lack of Experience'?
