  1. Good player. If I remember correctly, did he not do brilliant for us, then completely mess it up down south? I might be wrong. But we did make quite a healthy profit from him, I think.
  2. Brilliant post....an absolute winner and second to no-one, that man!
  3. Haha...Only going to be one winner then, when you were running out of your box for a 'fifty fifty' with the striker!
  4. Pretty close to mine too, although I would have liked Souness in there. And a toss of a coin between Cooper and Laudrup. Both were world class when they were on form.
  5. I forgot about Hurlock. That guy took NO prisoners!
  6. My sentiments exactly! I remember it well...he was amazing. Pity about that daft injury he got though!
  7. I know what you mean. If we can get that figure, that would be brill
  8. Not a Joe Garner post per se, as there has been a few of those already. My mate at work is a lifelong Forest fan. I asked him for his opinion of our new signing, as he obviously knows that league down there better than me. He told me he is a "good player who will guarantee us at least 10 goals a season". I didn't really know whether he was trying to take the piss or pay him some sort of weird compliment. Anyway, I'm pleased as hell with the signing and think he will be brilliant. I grew up idolising McCoist and got used to him racking them up over a season; even when he had a spell on the bench with the signing of Mo Johnston. I think a striker wearing the famous no 9 shirt, should guarantee us a bare-minimum of at least 20 goals per season (not including cups), in the top flight to give us any chance of winning the league. I would even accept Waghorn getting 15 for us playing on the right, and having a very good season. The number 9 should get more though. What do fellow bears think should be a reasonable target for our number 9 this season, whoever gets the nod??
  9. Good point...it's just a pity he didn't produce that kinda form for us.
  10. Agree...I liked Bocanegra. Thought Templeton would have done much better. Total joke how much we paid for that guy...
  11. Good point. Hopefully a new defender will be in the squad for next week!
  12. That's a fair shout. But I don't think MW had initially planned to play all three together from start tbh. It's been forced on him due to injuries and Nico still trying to get up to speed too. So I think we should cut them some slack. Also, we are going to have to get used to this at home now - motherwell's plan was to break up play and have everyone and their granny behind the ball. Thankfully, they got what they deserved - fuck all !
  13. Hmm...not too sure about that one mate as Holt is a completely different type of midfielder.
  14. Totally agree. Had a poor first half yesterday, like a few others tbh, but excellent second half the way he was driving everyone on. Just what we needed. He's still not at 100% yet, so a lot more to come from him, which is good for us.
  15. Bah, fuck them....any monies they make from the CL anyway is only going to be used to pay for all the crap player's wagers they have signed over the last few seasons. They must have the biggest squad in the whole of Europe with their 'We sign any player.com' philosophy. They hoovered up total dross from all over the place, and it's coming home to roost for them now, as they are unable to shift them on, due to their high wages and being under contract - they are stuck with them!
  16. Very good post. Shocking, but not all surprised by those arseholes.
  17. Good post. It's very difficult to judge a player via clips on you tube etc, so it's very refreshing to read your views. A donkey can look amazing on there...He looks like he gets stuck in like a tiger, is comfortable to hit a shot with both feet, and brilliant in the air - that will do for me!
  18. Warburton and McParland know these lower leagues like the back of his hand, so trust their judgement on this one. He's unearthed some real gems for us so far. I don't think Windass had a prolific scoring record from the lower leagues, but he's going to be some signing for us. Brilliant player. And not that long ago we were watching Foster thump a big long diagonal ball up for a Boyd or Daly knock down, then fighting for scraps. Utterly soul destroying, so as far as I'm concerned, we are bang on course! Upwards and onwards!
  19. Heard very good reports about this guy, so I hope he plays in defence. Bit worrying though that he's been out injured for ages - .last season too. Just hope it's not a crock we're signing ffs and he is able to hit the ground running.
  20. Heard it on radio clyde. Hope he impresses and gets himself a contract....we then might have finally found someone who can go up and actually match the opposing defenders at set pieces. Not holding my breath too much though, as I said that about Hill as well !
  21. Agree. Thought he had a good game, not a great one, but once he gets up to speed, he will be terrific for us. His passing was brilliant at times yesterday.
