  1. Of course he's got to prove himself...and if he doesn't start putting the ball in the net, then he will struggle with us for sure. Anyway, I wasn't trying to compare Hateley with Garner, ffs. Perhaps it got lost in translation, but I used Hateley as an analogy rather than as exact comparison. That's all.
  2. Lies, damn lies and statistics! But you're overall point is a good one. I'm not giving up hope yet on first, tbh, but it is looking highly unlikely now, sadly. But second place is definitely achievable. All the games I've seen us so far, we have dropped points due to a combination of poor finishing and sloppy defending, not because other teams are playing us off the park with their barcelona-esque type football!
  3. No idea what you're on about, but my point still stands. I've seen lots of players taking a bit stick in their first few games, while trying to settle, but then going on to be great signings; Hateley being one of the greatest ever in my lifetime, hence I mentioned him.
  4. You think "he's pish" ?! A bit harsh mate, but it's your opinion I guess. But I can remember the stick Mark Hateley got from our fans after his first few games, and the rest they say is history! I'm definitely going to wait and see if he comes good before panning him.
  5. Fair enough. Will have a look at it again later. Missed aberdeen's first goal too, but my mates told me it was a shocker!
  6. I thought Aberdeen were definitely there for the taking today. We were by far the better team in all areas - even big Hill had a very good game. They deserved absolutely nothing from the game. It's certainly a bit like 'deja vu' watching us at the moment - we play all the football, do all the running, and try to create all the openings, whilst the opposition just sit back and WAIT for us to make a frigging mistake! In saying that though, what chance have you got when the referee looks like he should have gone to spec savers at the end??
  7. Interesting points. Garner looks a bit isolated up front in that lone role. Put himself about a bit, but jury still out on him. Holt tried to support today with his runs, but nothing came off. Definitely needs a strike partner beside him, but Warburton looks like he won't change the shape of the team for anyone!
  8. Me too mate. I might be wrong, but I think Warbuton is going to show a bit of loyalty to Hill and Wilson for this one. Surely Kiernan needs to be taken out of the spotlight for a while after his horror showing at the piggery.
  9. Yip, you are right. They have done sweet FA since we went down. Watching them embarrass themselves in the europa league qualifiers every season has been pure comedy gold, BUT you can bet tomorrow, they will be playing like it's their cup final, and their very lives depend on it, such is their putrid hatred towards us!
  10. I know what you mean. If he sticks with Hill and Wilson, then it will be interesting to see how they cope together with players of genuine pace running at them on the break. They've looked decent together and had it fairly easy the last couple of games, but it would be excellent if they can keep another clean sheet for us!
  11. Spot on. I know what you mean. But to be honest, they were probably DELIGHTED at big DJ and Sutton having a real go at each other. I could actually hear the panel sniggering in the background at one point. For Clyde it's a result, because their show is being discussed, as it broke out on social media, and got us all talking about it on here. Job done for them.
  12. Yip, that's what I was thinking too mate. Sutton is just an odious creature, who gets a real kick out of talking non stop verbal diarrhea.
  13. Spot on. Me too mate. Although I do make an exception of watching them getting humped senseless in Europe, year after year. Sure does make compulsive viewing during the cold winter nights!
  14. Yip. You can put any formation down you want, but they all end up all over the place once the game actually starts! But you're right with the two strikers in the box though - that will do for me.
  15. Just think his confidence has totally gone at the moment unfortunately, as opposed to not being interested. Warburon definitely needs to take him out the limelight for a few games, as he's fast becoming the whipping boy, when things aren't going well.
  16. I agree mate. I liked a lot of the football at the match yesterday, and we just needed a bit of luck in front of goal. Windass and holt ran out of steam a bit in the sec half, which is understandable. We played a lot of good stuff - even our defence looked a bit more solid, with the absence of Kiernan. My only criticism yesterday was starting with McKay, who is a pale shadow of the player he was at the start of last year. Maybe going with a 4-4-2 would help too, as Garner looked a bit isolated in the box at times.
  17. Yip. Me too mate. Don't mind the score, so long as we win, that's all I care about. Finally get that nightmare from last weekend out my system! Pheew!
  18. Have been wondering that myself mate re Mckay. He's definitely lost his way a bit. And it's no coincidence that Wallace has had a poor start too. The link-up play was terrific between them last season. It's just not clicking into place for them so far though.
  19. Totally agree mate. I ran that past a couple weeks ago after the Linfield game. For some reason, Warburton doesn't seem to rate him, and sees him as an impact sub only. He hardly gets a sniff, even though McKay has been really poor this season. If he could just improve his final ball into the box, he will be some player for us - if he gets a chance that is! Really hope he plays today from the start.
  20. Just heard it on Clyde. Major bust up in training. Sent home until further notice by Warbs.
  21. Fair point. He's had some terrific games defensively last season, but not nearly enough imo. He doesn't seem to have any competition at all for his starting jersey, which I think has contributed to his regression. Even Hodson doesn't get a look-in, since he signed for us. Hope he can regain the form soon we all know he is capable of.
  22. That's a very good point mate. But For me, it just didn't work with only having a midfield 3 with Niko on the left. Especially considering the pace the tic had on the flanks. I was actually hoping on sat morning, that Warburton would maybe go for a solid 4-5-1, to accommodate him, and stifle their midfield, but our manager does not really like any other starting formation, so no chance of that happening.
  23. I know what you mean. He might come good though, If Warburton doesn't drop him, with Halliday on the bench, it will be interesting to see how he does with Windass and Holt in the team beside him doing all the running.
