  1. He couldn't mate. He was already contracted with talk sport to commentate in the euros, hence the late arrival, and it sure is bloody showing so far with his fitness! Hope he pick it up a bit...
  2. You may well, in the fullness of time, prove to be right re Joe Garner, but don't you think he at least deserves a little bit more time to show us what he can do?? And to score on your old firm debut is petty good going imo, despite the crap result !!
  3. Ok. Fair point. We are all pissed off, but don't you think he at least deserves to be manager until the end of the season??
  4. Sell Kiernan?? Sounds great, but seriously, who the hell is going to pay money for him?? This is a guy who could not even break into the first team in the lower leagues of England. We are stuck with him mate, unless we cut our losses and release him during one of the transfer windows. Can't see that happening somehow.
  5. Exactly mate. That's why it should have been addressed properly during the summer. It's not as if it's Mystic Meg stuff either - everyone and their dog could see it, but all we got was Clint Hill.
  6. Fair point. But at least Konterman could hit a decent shot from distance though! The Wilson signing was signing was totally baffling for me. Hearts released him coz they thought he could not make the step-up into the premiership, and they could get better than him. Kiernan is just an English league 1 reserve player all day long. Very poor show that we couldn't get the defence sorted during the transfer window. We are stuck with them now, ffs.
  7. I agree and I hope you're right too mate! I said in another thread I thought we were actually doing okay until or keystone defence reared its ugly head again. If they had been doing their job properly, we might not even be having this discussion. Our inability to defend corners is crippling us badly. We concede a predictable goal coz of it, and then we are ALWAYS playing catch up.
  8. I've tried my best to cut Kiernan some slack in the past. But after today's performance, you can't defend the indefensible. I forgot all about that contract extension for Kiernan too. Fucking hell.
  9. Yip. We should not have been starting this season with the exact same defence that struggled very badly at times last season. Everyone saw it. We are playing catch up already because of it ffs.
  10. Yip. Can't wait until he gets up to full speed. Good strong character too. He's going to be some player.
  11. Yip. We could put Messi into that team, but unless we get the defence sorted out, it wouldn't make a rat's arse of a difference.
  12. Tbh, I'm not at all surprised at all by his crap performance today. He plays exactly like a English league 1 SQUAD player at best. What you see is what you get. Very poor signing.
  13. Fair point. What really rubs it in though, is that it's like watching a re-run of a bad horror movie, as we were defending as shambolically as this last season too. The only plus side for me is that Windass and Garner are going to be terrific signings for us.
  14. I agree, Senderos might actually turn out to be a decent player for us, in the end. He was kinda hung out to dry today with that bomb scare Kiernan beside him. I'm just really pissed off because we were doing quite well until our key stone cop defending reared its ugly head. AGAIN!
  15. Aye right, I think you could probably set up a few today mate. I like MOH, so that's why I said "maybe". And remember he didn't even bring him off the bench for the last league game when we were struggling, if my memory is correct. Going on current form I would rather he started ahead of McKay. He might even play both from the start, but I doubt it.
  16. Good point. And so any times I've seen him running past the full back and putting a cracking ball across with his left foot. Baffling that he doesn't do that more often, as he's clearly got the ability to skin ANY full back in Scotland for pace!
  17. I was wondering that myself mate. Maybe Warburton does not think MOH has an end product to go with his blistering pace?? McKay has had a poor start compared to last season, so it will be interesting to see who he opts for come next week.
  18. Exactly! I'm well pleased with the direction we are heading in, even though I would liked to have seen us picking up max points so far. It's like night and day when you do a comparison to the complete dross we had in our team under McCoist, with a few exceptions of course! MW has a success rate of good signings of around 80-90% IMO, which is excellent. I certainly don't want to see us going back to the days of wasting monies on ridiculous signings likes James Beattie etc, who was awful, and cost us a fortune just to get him off the wage bill. Look at them over on the other side now, with their 3.5 million dud who they are now stuck with! Their very own Daniel Prodan!
  19. Good points mate. I might be wrong, but if MW does decide to play both in the OF game, then this exactly the type of game that they will locve and thrive on. And with opposition doing most of the pressing from the start, I think their class and ability to pick a decent pass will work in our favour - especially with the pace of McKay, MOH etc. I We have a real chance, even if it's a 'snatch and grab' game for us! We just need our defence to be a bit more solid for us though this time...
  20. That's a good post mate. I'm cutting MW some slack at the moment coz of the injury situation to Waghorn, Holt, Crooks and Windass. They will definitely make a massive difference when their in the team - hopefully for the OF game.
  21. Aye right. The operative word being 'IF'. I watched them midweek and they were hopeless - no where near as good as some of the green leaning media are painting them out to be, ffs. We are more than capable of going there in couple of weeks and getting a result. Definitely. Especially if we get some of our injured players back. And Garner will have had another couple of weeks under his belt by then too.
  22. Good point mate, but I just can't wait for all of our injured players come back - it's gonna make a massive difference on the field. We are missing the drive and energy from Holt, Windass, etc. The signing of Hill clearly hasn't worked too. MW has couple of days left in transfer window to address the defence, or it's going to be one long season for us!
  23. Definitely. And although he didn't score, I was still impressed by Garner when he came on - looks like he can handle himself. Looking forward to seeing him getting a run of games under his belt.
  24. Some good points mate. The thing that's bothered me this season is the overall pace of the team. The high pressing, high tempo game has gone - so far anyway. Just can't wait for Holt, Waghorn and Windass to return.
  25. Agree with the comments about Hill. He really should just get on with the coaching in the background. Not even good enough for a stop gap IMO. Disappointed too with the performance of McKay - he seem to have lost his confidence a bit. Hope it's just temporary though and he gets back to his best soon.
