He was genuinely world class. I haven't seen a talent as good as Laudrup play for us (though i've said a few times i wish i'd seen Cooper play). 
Gazza was a maverick, and brilliant, but Laudrup was so consistent. 

I think some younger Bears genuinely don't realise how astonishing this guy was. Was an absolute privilege to watch a player of his calibre play for us, and amazing that we signed him. Would be an 80m plus player today. 
He scored a similar but even better goal against Aberdeen.

Did as well as every single person that had watched him over the last few years said he would. Only Beale thought differently. Probably because he saw him score a worldy once playing for PSV under 12s.

If anything summed up the ridiculous arrogance and hubris that our previous manager had, it was blowing a sizeable chunk of our budget on a striker who hadn’t even reached double figures in goals over the last four seasons.
It was a signing that basically everyone apart from Michael Beale knew was never going to work.

Yilmaz deserves a lot of praise for his last 2 games.

Knowing our luck, we might have picked up another in jury tonight in those conditions.
