LegendofCoop 17,489
Brilliant thread...almost in tears reading this! Just back from walking the dogs & I'll swear that there's a really big shiney star in the sky tonight that wasn't there last night. He inspired me tonnes when I was learning the game. I was right footed but insisted on playing left wing & always tried to use my left peg. Failed miserably of course! Was behind Nicky Walkers goal in the Aberdeen cup final. As he stepped up to take the kick, the whole ground hushed & seemed to hold it's collective breath. I'll swear that you could almost hear the ball hitting the net before you saw it! God bless you Davie!!!

CanadianGer 1
Dryborough Cup goal is the greatest goal I've ever seen scored by a Scotsman. I was lucky enough to meet Davie a few times when I'd go up to Ibrox looking for autographs. He was always very pleasant and friendly and made time for us young fans. Always been my favourite Ranger and still very sorely missed to this day. A national scandal he won so few caps but I'm delighted he is in the hall of fame.
