Somebody educate this Yank, please ... can you file suit over there for harassing behavior? Seems to me that someone who is offended by a parrot should certainly qualify as a target-rich environment for a lawsuit.

Both agencies have decided to take no further action, after Ms Gillies claimed her parrot had died of a broken heart. She said the parrot no longer wished to live in a banana republic like Scotland anymore. Death, it seemed, was preferable to existence in this bad joke of a backward country...

Holding the dead parrot - which was clad in a mini Rangers top - the 45-year-old mother and full-time carer said:

“He's not singing, he's passed on. This sectarian parrot is no more. He has ceased to be. He's expired and gone to meet his maker. He's a stiff, bereft of life, he rests in peace. If I hadn't have nailed him to the perch he'd be pushing up the daisies. He's rung down the orange sash and joined the lodge invisible. This is an ex sectarian parrot!”

Just goes to show we do have a sense of humour. Unlike some of the small minded fu-- wits that have nothing better to do with their time and newspapers who will print anything that sells newspapers.

I've got a blue and white budgie that can whistle Derry's Walls and (wait for it) he wears a bowler hat and white gloves (which cover his wing tips nicely, thank you) and carries an umbrella. He does a tap dance as he sings.

He finishes off his song and dance by screaming in his little high-pitched voice, "No Surrender!" (cheep-cheep) :)

We stick him and his cage at the front window (open, naturally) and have installed loudspeakers so we can amplify his tuneful little warblings.

We named him 'Bobby The Bigot' just to noise up the neighbours and any Council officials who happen to pass by.

I look forward to the daily gutter rags contacting us any day now.

Im getting the kids an african grey. Cant pick it up till early September. Any ideas on what its first words should be

ive got a african grey =]

u gettin a "hand reared one?" (sounds gay ano but still they are more friendly)

with ma parrot it just picks up things eg, hello when u come home, bye when ur leavin n hello when the phone rings. he also shouts for a biscuit when u open the cupboard or shouts for toast when he hears you buttering the bread.

Basically they just learn what they want, they wont say a word if you repeat it everyday they just say what they want to.
