Weir recalled for Scotland

Journalist: 'Do you regret not calling up Davie Weir?'

Burley: 'Well Davie played in the earlier games, against Norway...'

Journalist: 'Aye, and we had a shut out in that match.'

Burley: 'The defenders that came in instead done very well.'

What an absolute banger Burley is.

He didn't actually say that, did he?

Aye! I just seen it on SSN, I couldn't believe it.

That deserves a thread of it's own in the GS section.

Un-fucking-believable.

In fact...........:pipe:

It's not perfect to the word, but that's basically how it went. What a moron.

Like most observers, McDowall was surprised the Ibrox veteran - already drawing praise for his displays so far this season - was overlooked by Burley for the horror show against the Norsemen of the Apocalypse in Oslo.

But Weir's recall to the international fold is something that McDowall believes is fitting.

The Ibrox coach said: "These decisions are down to George Burley. But if Davie is playing for Rangers week in, week out, then I think he is good enough for the national team.

"He has been incredible since he arrived at the club. His experience and defensive attributes have come to the fore for us."
