Its funny how times change...over 30 yrs ago, 90% or more of the Scotland support were Bears. Ask them to support England??? Your having a laugh! I can imagine the likes of Jim Baxter being asked if he would want England to win... he would probably have pissed himself laughing. Anyway..everyone to their own. Im looking forward to seeing a great tournament, some great players and some great goals. My allegiance will be with the country I currently live in, but I look forward to seeing the African teams. I'm all for the union, but i'm proudly Scottish and therefore wish these wanks no luck whatsoever Aye; Sun headline made me cringe. See how now struggle! More club than national supporter really, as whilst English, not sure how much Team England represent me tbh (though only time was pleased to see England lose was against NI). I support England just as much as i do NI and Wales in competitive matches, and will always support my own country. There is no contradiction there at all. If Britain were playing under one team then there would be a contradiction. As it is they are seperate footballing nations. Exactly. But I wouldnt say I support them either, I know I might be hypocritical saying that I would support Northern Ireland in a football game but not England, the fact is that a big part of this country hates England and wants nothing to do with them. We're talking about a football team of a component part of the Union. I would raise an eyebrow if it's not a 'sport related chip' maybe, but within Sport it's totally acceptable imho. But yet again when i saw the way the tartan army were welcoming maradonna to scotland earlier this year, there was a part on the BBC news, the national news not just reporting scotland they were in this tartan army pub up in aberdeen and it was showing the shrine they had made to maradonna and they were all saying he deserved it for "Doing us a favour in 86" - That really fucked me off and ashamed to be a scotland supporter. No im saying i was appauled at the way the tartan army hailed him as a hero for "doing us a favour" as they put it!! How the fuck did he do us a favour? it was ina competition we werent even in, its a fucking shocking attitude to have towards anything!!! Makes scotland come across as a bunch of fucking losers!!
