delparlane 5,986
Maybe Davie Smith... was a class player. The real hero of the '72 ECWC triumph, in my book. Exceptional throughout that campaign.
theorangephantom 0
I'll probably get ridiculed for this, but big Davie Mcpherson did a good job for The Rangers, i think it was because he looked like a big fanny that people didn't give him any recognition. He played in the 92/93 euro run at the back with Big Goughie.

NewHope 0
For me it would be Davie Robertson. Great left-back... Linked with Laudrup with devastating effect. He was fuckin' rapid too... apparently he could run the 100m in under 11 secs or somethin'.
Amac9 2,060
I always thought Claudio Reyna and Shota Arveladze never got the recognition they deserved.
NewHope 0
Brahim Hemdani Very good shout. Although..... wait just a minute... he got our player of the year award in his last full season. So he can't qualify as unsung... unless you are Walter Smith?
NewHope 0
I always thought Claudio Reyna and Shota Arveladze never got the recognition they deserved. Very good players in a team full of big players with even bigger egos. The Advocaat era still bamboozles and delights me in equal measure.
wearethemighty 186
Rod wallace was one wish we another like him now! Claudio cannigia another fantastic player although he was old when he came ( saw him and his wee boy in frazers once a couple of year ago looking throgh the sale stands!) Gabrielle 'tomato' amato cult hero!

Butragueno 0
In my time it's still Claudio Reyna. In any other Rangers team he'd be a stand out but due to the quality we had throughout the squad when he was around he was less appreciated. Pretty much everything Steven Davis currently offers only with consistency, leadership, better techincal ability and a hard edge. Just a phenomenal athlete really. Random fact, we discovered Reyna after playing the US national side in a friendly in 1998 arranged by Advocaat.
papaguy51 941
Reyna for me as well. What a player.
Misteral 2,948
How can Richard Gough or Ally McCoist be thought of as unsung? Both of them would likely be in most posters all time Rangers X1. Weird.
BouncingBear 23
Maybe Tommy McLean isn't quite as well remembered/thought of as he should be. He played over 450 games for us including the 1972/73 Cup Winners Cup team. He was an excellent winger with a good brain. He even became our assistant manager under Wille Waddell (?) and came back to Ibrox to work with the kids about 9 years ago. Don't know what he's doing now but fondly remembered by this bear. Wee Tam was exceptional, could always drop the ball on a pinhead with his crosses. Another player I quite liked, albeit later on, was Peter Huistra. I used to love Huistra when I was wee, was cryin when my dad told me he left! So long ago where was he from??

wertp72 0
There has been quite a few unsung heroes, I always liked Stuart McCall. Munro possibly. I wouldn't players were unsung, just had great players in the team who hit the headlines due to their game. Also him that came from Hearts. His name escapes me just now, I'm very tired just now His cheeks were always bright red. Defender. Had to retire due to injury. Part of nine in a row teams. That's annoying me now LOL. Not Dave McPherson.

thebeerhunter 0
John Brown, what a player for just £350k, a proper Souness bargain, the fact he never played for Scotland was a crime. Also when he played as a stop gap when we had loads of injuries Fraser Wishart was spot on.
