James Mccarthy ? As in the rat that turned his back on Scotland to play for o'ireland ? As in the most over-rated player to ever play this side of the North pole ? Nah, glad we passed if you dont mind.

Shite. He's a quality wee player regardless of decisions he's made in the past.

As for Murphy, he's really came onto a game the past 6-12 months. Worth a punt.

No because they play in different positions

McCarthy started his Wigan career playing in a wide midfield position. The same wide midfield position that Valencia played in before he joined Man Utd. McCarthy has played more centrally recently, but even now he still ocassionally plays out on the left.

Still it's neither here nor there and this is really an arguement about nothing.

To all the "not Rangers class" posters when referring to this talented kid, did you see our class players reduced to also rans by a mid table Swedish side.

Larsson that scored the goal tonight was signed from Hacken, he probably had all the Malmo fans muttering about him not being Malmo class. A good side brings in young players with potential and turns them into better players. The players we should be looking at are the ones we can bring in who can give something to the side just now, but that can be developed into even better players over time for our benefit and then a sell on value. Jamie Murphy definitely fits the bill in this sense!

Did Well not quote around 750,000?

20 league appearances and a couple of CL games under his belt for a team like Rangers and that price doubles by next summer, at least.

Not sure.

Sometimes you have to wonder, eh.

Exactly. And even if it didn't work out I'd fancy our chances of getting our money back at the very least from some Championship mob.

People on here getting excited about any old shite player now just so we sign someone

Is murphy better than what we have in jelavic and lafferty = no chance

He is a lot younger than the pair and will defo end up better than Lafferty(if he is not already).

As discussed at the game last night. What happens if Jelavic gets injured, whose cover?

We spent money on Healy and Kerkar, but last night with twenty to go we don't put Healy on and the mystery that is kerkar isn't (at least I didn't see him) on the bench. We pish that money away on a vetran and a non entity, where we could take the punt on a bit of Scotish talent that has the chance to make a real impact.

Jamie Murphy, a talented kid with bags of potential, and he's Rangers daft.

This to me is a no brainer!

He is better than Kerkar, more dangerous than Healy, a better player than Andy Little and would offer more than Edu in an attacking sense. I think he is obviously better than what we have, our problem is we have given new contracts to these weaker players to stay at Rangers. Its making me sick thinking about it.
