Jamie Murphy

BOLTON and QPR are both on the trail of Motherwell’s £700,000-rated star Jamie Murphy who is also on Rangers radar.

Express Sport also understands that Jamie Murphy and Motherwell boss Stuart McCall are aware of 'serious' interest from the Premiership pair as well as several Championship clubs.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle knows the Scotland under-21 striker from his own time north of the border and views him as a good long-term prospect.

Newly-promoted QPR are also monitoring the situation with McCall's former boss, Neil Warnock, now in charge at Loftus Road.

Championship sides Leicester City and Crystal Palace are also in the mix for his signature , although Murphy's preference would be to head to the top-flight.

Rangers boss Ally McCoist is known to rate the Well star highly- although his top option remains Dundee United's David Goodwillie if a deal can be done.

I've been waiting for this for a while. I actually like this guy, he could develop into some player for us. But judging by the article it looks like we will only follow up if we lose out on Goodwillie.

I mind when he burst on to the scene at Motherwell. I mind him coming off the bench at Ibrox and absolutely terrorising us a few seasons back, pretty sure it was him. Good young player who has performed well at Scottish Youth International level too
