ForeverBlue_Since91 2,895
Surely there must be free agents out there a bit better?
StuartM6 279
Surely there must be free agents out there a bit better?I see james beattie is available as a free agent
stevotrueblue 382
would fill the gap where we need it ,, up front , AM, or LM,,, AS long as he isnt offered stupid wages like beattie(20k),, no more than 10K and be happy with that. Colonel Mustard 380
Some people seem to have missed that, apart from anything else, he was excellent coming on as a sub when we needed someone to help keep posession, to close out a game.He often did that very well, and I'd have him here again. Who knows, he might even have an Indian summer in pursuit of more winners medals. I'd bet a small wager on him doing that.
GersAvA92 53
He's better than Beatts, I wouldn't really care if he came. We've heard nothing on this since Fourth_Offical said something yesterday afternoon.
stewaj3 1,446
Ok I know he's not the most loved figure in the world, I also know he was inconsistent and lacked any kind of pace at all when on loan with us.... but I genuinly think diouf might be worth a shot in CM?I remember seeing Diouf in person for the first time in a game against Motherwell at Ibrox and I didn't know what to expect, well... we won 6-0 and Diouf was excellent, he was coming deep for the ball, picking passes, retaining possesion in difficult circumstances, worked hard, although lacked a bit of sharpness at that time, got me thinking that maybe he could be a combative midfielder capable of creating chances, something that we have lacked in our side? Also good corner taker and crosser? I also think his personality might lift the squad a bit!Should we sign him? Until now I'd have said no, but now i'm thinking maybe he does have something to offer despite a relatively poor loan spell! A short term deal is something we could consider! Knowing how we're doing we'll sign him on a high wage and long term deal.
King_gazza 1,065
There is already a diouf thread
skinnymate1690 666
more than enough centre mids
HooliGoon 1
When I said we should have played him at center mid last season I got slaughtered. People we're tellin me I was a mental midget. He's no fast enough te be a striker but is good at hold up play and distributing the ball. WATP!
GlasgowsBlue 329
Diouf has always been known as a wide man or a striker but as he's got older he lost his lean build and with it his pace so moving in off the flanks to CM would be a good shout, or just behind the strikers in a more advanced midfield role .. NessFTW 40
As much as I don't really rate or like the guy, I wouldn't complain if we signed him on a 1 year deal or something, just to buff up the squad. As long as he was on very cheap wages of course. Adoniram 1,919
This means anyone can sign him after the window as he is now a free agent
gordo7 147
Undecided as to whether this will be a good move, but I think we'll bring him back.
hambone 328
Think he would require a few bob on wages which we wouldnt have been paying when he was on loan. Now we have released Beaffy.....

djbroxybear 660
Read somwhere this morning Ally quoted saying Diouf won't be coming back to ibrox.
Chambo 197
I really don't know why so many people would be happy to have Diouf back!He did nothing for us on the park when he was here and brings unnecessary attention off it!It's a big no from me! Andy-rfc 0
Dont want him near scotland, we have enough going on in our club without an idiot like him causing all sorts of hassel
BlueSuedeSambas 54,651
Better player than Healy or the now departed Beattie.A choice of Jelavic, Lafferty, Naismith, Diouf is stronger on paper than a choice of Jelavic, Lafferty, Naismith & Healy. californiadreamin52 339
Flatters to deceive a waste of wages would rather see a youngster given a chance
TerryTibbs 230
I hope McCoist realises there are other free options that would be better than DioufNot a popular one, but James McFadden for starters
loch71 10
Nooooooooooooooooo way. The guy was one of the biggest imposters to ever wear a Gers shirt. I wouldn't have him anywhere near Ibrox again in a million years. Diouf in CM? That is an utterly depressing thought
TerryTibbs 230
No, just stick Jelavic in there
Davie2909 21
Well at the moment we are 1 player short of the squad size from last season so i personally wouldnt mind him coming back providing he was not played as a striker as he is not a striker. Attacking midfielder or just behind the strikers yes
