BILLY DAVIES is joining RangersTV as our special studio guest for the January 2 clash with Motherwell at Ibrox.

Davies, of course, started his career with the Light Blues and made his debut at the age of 17 against Brechin City.

He also played for Motherwell before becoming boss in 1998 and he has a wealth of experience in the English Championship.

Davies led Preston to the platy-offs twice and took Derby County back into the top flight. He then led Nottingham Forest to the play-offs too only to leave them last summer.

He is passionate and forthright and you can watch him only on RangersTV when he joins Alison Walker.

Happy New Year Bears.

Got to know him a bit through a mutual friend and he is a great guy, with great passion for the game.

We ran a pretty good amateur youth side at the time, when he was at Motherwell and he came in and took a few training sessions and after he went to Preston he came up to watch team play in the Scottish Amatuer Youth Cup final at Hampden. He took the team talk at half time and we went on to win 7-3. (Not sayin that if I took the team talk, we would have lost!!!) Can't thank him enough.

However, if he came, shagger and edu would have some real competiton fur the burds and I don't wan't anythin upsetting their game!!!! ha ha!!

Happy New Year!

Billy Davies has pretty much done the business everwhere he has managed, i am a great believer in rookie managers cutting their teeth at actually managing and improving clubs leading to them getting good club jobs, its not Allys fault he was thrown in at the deep end, but if he had already managed and noteably improved lesser teams like Davies or Paul Lambert then he would be ready for the Ibrox post.
