simplythebest 11,453
If he has then I can't say i'm that worried about it, SFA are shitebags obviously.
stampyurie 203
its not great for our small squad but to be fair its a great oppertunity for him to get in and see what really is required for the club knowing he doesnt have to spend for the 1st full season. WilliamMunny 3,500
Might give us time to prepare that's all I can say
El Carpintero 546
Suits him and his consortium perfectly as gunslinger says. No need to spend, no ability to spend, no pressure on them, and they know 50000 will be there every second week. Easy money.
PapaShango 7
We Are not in a position to sign players anyway. We need to be prudent
gunslinger 270
and before anyone starts on me it would suit any new owner fine probably.

LegendofCoop 18,123
From the main site:-Charles Green, who leads a consortium purchasing Rangers, said: "Our group went into the purchase of the club with this sanction in place but we hoped the decision would at least be commuted. "We fully support the club as it considers an appeal against this latest decision."This buys him some great time in all this. No funds to be spent, existing contracts only....can sign Aluko on an extension! I'm disappointed, but this may not be as bad for us as we think! I think the priority was always going to be trying to finish second and qualify for Europe next season!! That is still VERY much the case!! We do at least have a good blend of youth & experience....most of the players seem to want to stay!!!

disgruntled_bear 157
might be counting on it. excellent breathing space for a new owner.Exactly my thoughts on the situation. It lowers expectation. Perfect excuse to let high earners go. Then we have a year to sort things out behind the scenes with no pressure.
IainB 599
From the Administrators comment tonightCharles Green, who leads a consortium purchasing the Club, said: "Our group went into the purchase of the Club with this sanction in place but we hoped the decision would at least be commuted. I wish there was away to tell the SFA to FO.
bloonosed 14
Anyone else think the "WARCHEST" statement was made at an ODD moment ?
1873bear 192
If we can keep our existing players I think we can do well next year...if we lose big players we will struggle to qualify for champions league.
gunslinger 270
I will say this. if we newco and a lot of players take the free transfer then we will be in quite a situation.

thebooler 4,509
Maybe not. Just as the SFA and Lieswell never banked on us finding our way out of this mess with a consortium that may have some financial clout.
Turnberry18 3,204
Anyone else think the "WARCHEST" statement was made at an ODD moment ? Nothing odd about it; how much did it cost him? But, it tickled our ears eh? The man is learning.
ronniemca 479
if i was sitting in my mud hut in darkest india and had pledged my rupees to a consortium with the aim of turning the club round ala global brand, european football etc etc,and this happened today.i'd be off like a rat up a drainpipe.and this is what will happen.watch the green consortium explode
whytes3 254
It does hopefully give us the opportunity to concentrate on the existing squad and possibly try to renegotiate the contracts of the players who took pay cuts in return for cut price release deals. If we can offer these guys a little more to stay then we retain the nucleus of a good squad which we can add youth to and possibly bring in some up and coming young guys on loan form the epl or other leagues
Turnberry18 3,204
Sell the stars, can't replace them; get the money in, and sell at a profit. Isn't that what this guy said he is about? Yeah, I am sure he is raging right now!
