Big V 271
I don't really know what to say about the first line here... we were apparently forced to "relaunch the club" after we were "found guilty of financial irregularities".Did I miss the news that the HMRC appealed and overturned our court victory?----Rangers director of communications: New structure plan is an 'abomination'Rangers were forced to relaunch the club in Scotland's third tier this season after being found guilty of financial irregularities. The proposals, which would see a new 12-12-18 structure and a merger between the SPL and SFL, have still be cleared by the clubs with a vote expected this month. It is not clear yet how the proposals, if implemented, would affect Rangers. But their director of communications, James Traynor, writing on the club's website, says the proposals would effectively render this season irrelevant and accused Scotland footballing powerbrokers in the SPL and SFL of hypocrisy."This abomination will now be pulled and stretched by selected members of the SPL and SFL in a desperate attempt to make it more presentable... 12-12-18. It's ridiculous, especially when you remember the two 12s will fragment into three eights," Traynor wrote."Yet this time supporters will just have to buy into it. Whatever happened to that new and bold notion that fans were all important?"It isn't that long ago clubs, particularly those in the top flight, were solemnly insisting that ignoring the views of fans would be akin to financial suicide."Remember? It was when the game was wrestling with the problem of what to do with Rangers."All the clubs were squealing that the wishes of fans had to be granted. If you swallowed any of that bilge you probably also believed in sporting integrity. Of course it was all nonsense. Sporting integrity was a cloak of convenience, albeit a rather thin, practically transparent one, behind which club leaders huddled together to come up with sanctions."The sheer hypocrisy of what is happening within Hampden's corridors of power right now will be lost on them but let's not pretend sporting integrity or the wishes of supporters really are important to all those clubs pushing for this change."If they were listening to fans they wouldn't be sticking with a top division of 12, and if there was any integrity there would be no rush to bring in changes for the start of next season."If, as seems likely, the structure is altered for 2013-14 supporters won't get what they've already paid for, especially those following teams striving for promotion. Actually this entire season will be rendered meaningless."Sporting integrity won't merely be compromised, it'll be crushed but this is what happens when desperation slips in and throttles reason."Link if you want it. TravelingWilBEARy 4,319
Does it say who wrote it? It might not be a deliberate dig, just an English writer ignorant of the facts.

iain1712 336
This is good. I like how sky have picked up jim's blog and gave it widespread exposure, this is what we need a rangers voice in main stream media. I won't hold my breath waiting on the Scottish tabloid rags reproducing this article however.
cammyfraserrfc 5
I think we are all getting a little too sensitive to some things that are probably written up in 10 minutes.
Big V 271
Does it say who wrote it? It might not be a deliberate dig, just an English writer ignorant of the facts. No it doesn't, it was probably that well known Sky writer: Tim I-forget-his-surname.I posted this comment, doubt it will get added though:When the first line in a report incorrectly claims the club was relaunched (it was the holding company not the club) and then goes on to claim we were found guilty when in actual fact we were found innocent, it is time to wonder just who wrote this "article" and what their affiliation/agenda is. ForeverBlue1872 463
I don't see it as a dig at us, as it was Jim Traynor who wrote it for Rangers?

Jamie0202 12,561
Under the wee fuckpig Whyte we did have financial irregularities. Nowhere does it mention the FTTT or HMRC's possible appeal. What I do see is some mainstream exposure for Traynor's article and long may that continue. ForeverBlue1872 463
Whyte was a conman like everyone knows so what he did has fuck all to do with us. I'm surprised at SKY as their reporting on Rangers has usually been good.

Reformation Bear 6,453
Between Charles and now JT it should now be the case that Rangers can continue to be on the media front foot setting out our view of matters to as wide an audience as Rangers feels it needs to reach. In other words we promote our own cause, club, and business for our own reasons whenever we want to and look to get the maximum beneficial exposure from that. And respond in clear, honest and candid terms to any stuff we do not agree with or think is just plain rubbish (like the hypocracy of the SPL and now it seems SFL's Longmuir whose reconstruction proposals make them look like snake-oil salesmen). sergio 1,199
I hate to say it, We did go into administration for failing to pay what we owed, we were found guilty of failing to pay PAYE and NIC by the SFA, so financial irregularities is exactly what you get accused of by HMRC if you do not pay them. And the club was relaunched in the 4th tier of Scottish football as a direct result of this. I personally don't have an issue with it, but I can see why that word might annoy some.We know that all of the above was done by one bastard of a Man, and another who gave him the chance to do it, but it was done under the banner of our club and we have accepted the punishment and are trying to move on,
Big V 271
Eh, maybe I am a little over-sensitive, I still don't like the way it was worded though.
