Creampuff 22,630
Presuming he wins today, Nadal will be in the semi-final without facing a seeded player This US Open has been particularly odd.

If the 6 months rest does the job then great if no he as well retiring. getting a hip op at his age would be to much to come back from. First week of the Australia open could be interesting maybe see some big matches early. Murray may well be seeded outside the top
Creampuff 22,630
Murray's hip will be fine if he takes the rest of the season off. Becker called this at Wimbledon I'm sure; that this sort of hip injury would take 6 months out. Once he missed the US there was little point in rushing back before the end of the season. siamthedanger 2,928
Admire him for trying to get through Wimbledon but he really never should have played at it. Any other tournament including other slams he probably would not have.
barrymorrison1 1,039
Delpo wins in 4. Game has missed this player at the very top for too long. great win.
Creampuff 22,630
Actually a little relieved that DelPo won. Reckon that through fatigue and injury, Nadal would have trounced Fed.

Creampuff 22,630
Anderson in a slam final is going pretty much as expected. It's not his fault, with all-due respect he's just not at this level.

Inigo 33,345
Nadal's got to have a half a chance of catching Federer in the slams stakes now?

I dunno. 3 slams is still an awful lot, especially given Murray and Djokovic will be back next year. That's before you consider his injury history which could always resurface. His best chance is probably 3 more French Opens

Not discluding Wawrinka. 3 slams wins in 3 finals before losing his fourth at RG. I think Novak will come back big time.
JamieD 20,058
Looking at this season it seems mad to bet against him matching Federer, but on the other hand, he hasn't had two great seasons in a row since 2011 (I know Novak dominated him that year, but he was still great). Creampuff 22,630
Who even knows anymore? For the first time since before Federer's initial rise, tennis is seemingly impossible to predict.
dummiesoot 16,278
There is no oncoming through though that looks like they can take over and challenge regularly. I fear for tennis after the big 3 / 4 retire. Tbh I think Andy wins close to ten slams in any other era.
Orange Persson 555
All ifs and buts with Slams for Andy. Lets not forget that Laver would be top of the list. He missed at least 20? Slams with turning Pro between 62 -68. In 62 he won the true Grand Slam and did same in 68. No man since then has done even one true Grand Slam. So in his 6 years out, how many would he have gotten? It speaks for itself I think. He still got 11 I think with his best 6 years out! dummiesoot
