Three bowlers Certainly a bat heavy side with Pope, Lawrence and Foakes in at 6, 7 & 8! 6 specialist batsmen, a wicket keeper and an all rounder. Although you can see why India haven't lost a home series in nearly a decade, as strong a side as they are. England have nowhere near enough spin bowlers good enough but to go sun continent you need them so he’s it. I think our problem is batting. It is more an indictment of Englands lack of depth with spin bowlers. He is still young by spin bowling standards and may improve, but I've now watched him bowl in 20 odd test innings now and he is a fair bit short of being good enough for test level. England have a massive batting line-up and I don’t think putting 300+ on the board is impossible - but it’s very hard to have faith in the England line-up to do anything other than dramatically collapse once the wickets start to fall. Dickie1963 2,352 Posted April 17, 2021 Share Posted April 17, 2021 I have a Dangerous Building to look after and wandered down past the local cricket club 3 or 4 ? years ago and there was a World Cup qualifier of some sort on UAE v maybe Bangladesh. Stood and watched for a bit. Boy do these guys bowl quick and these guys weren't even World Class. Standard of fielding was superb. Beautiful day. It was near lunchtime do watched for maybe 2 hours.
