They've never replaced Mane and Firmino, Salah looks well below form and may even be on the downward slope, Gakpo, Jota and Nunez have been pretty average signings. New midfield doesn't have the same bite that Fabinho, Henderson and Thiago did, early days but they're just not the same types of player. Defence hasn't changed, still questions over TAA, Matip and Gomez with 0 investment. Still a decent side who will beat most this season but won't trouble City. Its a weird one for me.. they have bought seemingly good players, but as you say its just not got the bite.. I just think they need a helluva lot.. some very good dominating players.
