if sky lose it then i won't be watching on BT sport. 1) i don't have bt broadband and don't plan to buy it. same is true for sky 2) they don't offer a service like Now TV which sky do.

if BT want to compete they need to make it accessible to more people.

Be aware that BT owns all the Broadband in the UK. Sky, Virgin, Talk Talk etc only rent the copper or fibre optic cable to deliver their product.

BT could refuse to supply any 3rd party tomorrow and they would be the only UK option.

Virgin run their own cables and therefore have their own network.

No all copper and fibre is BT owned, the rest just piggy back on.

apart from when lots of vans and diggers and men in hats turn up with Virgin Media splashed everywhere and start digging up your street to lay their own cabling . :lol:

Have BT not been told to separate the OpenReach business from the rest of BT, to ensure that can't happen?

It's open reach that run the network.

Is there a link to this story because I cant find anything online, thx

the gist of it;

Sky Tell the ess-pee-ell to GTF, BT step in to save the day

In an unprecedented move, BT will now show all the shitey games that are played in Scotland thanks to Sky deciding that the 5 viewers watching Aberdeen V Ross County doesn't make sending a camera crew worthwhile. The only game sanyone cares baout are Rangers - this includes sellic fans who can't get enough of beelin' at the fact rangers continue to be alive.

It's understood BT will offer free broadband on matchdays only to clubs who are allowing them to record their games. BT will use fan recordings via persicope to record and stream the games to a cuppla folk on their new BT SPORTS (shite) channel.

No, it was rumoured a couple of months ago in the media but that's about it.

Nothing to be found on this as yet, there were rumours in March that BT was trying to get exclusive rights to Scottish Football for season 2017/18, but nothing has been confirmed as yet.

Sky & BT contracts aren't up until 2020. Any deal wouldn't start until then.
