Full Backs

Until we address both full back positions we will struggle, no matter who we play....as we did tonight.

If our full backs can't attack down the wings and/or defend when required then we'll always be up against it, regardless of the quality of opposition.

It's no coincidence successful teams tend to have fantastic full backs so it shouldn't come as a surprise that we're struggling when you consider the shite we currently have at our disposal.

Even when Tav isn't playing well he always seems to still have a moment or two in a game where he creates a great chance. How Windass missed though and how Tav missed his header I'll never know.

Wallace's final ball is generally pretty poor however IMO.

Defensively? How long do you have......

Your full backs either need to be good defenders or good going forward, ours are neither

The one thing we manage to do consistently (sure it's through pure luck rather than design) is get full backs high up the park. That they are both so useless when they get there, as well as being horrible defenders, makes them liabilities.

So much this, it's like Wallace is on a rail on that touch line he's only capable of moving forwards or backwards in a straight line and everyone in the stadium knows what he's going to do as soon as he gets the ball. His end product is and nearly always has been non existent.

Tavernier is just an athlete, never a footballer and much like Wallace produces very little end product

Everyone in the stadium including Wallace himself. We get the fear, he just seems to panic. It doesn't help either that there's rarely more than one person to aim at, even when they do manage to fluke a decent cross.

Their defending is plain indefensible.

When we're defending you can guarantee they'll both be at least 5/6 yards away from where they're supposed to be usually tucked inside our box hiding from their men and allowing crosses in

Wallace bursts forward, normally beats a man, and then every time without fail will pass it backwards towards the midfield. The whole loyalty thing should never be ignored, but he's got worse every season with us. In his first season he was unstoppable down the left, what happened?

Our full backs are better going forward than defending and the early signs from our new wingers are not good. I wonder if Pedro will consider a back 3 of our two Portuguese boys with Wilson or Bates, tav and lee wide, jack Pena and niko/dorrans midfield and then any two of the strikers up top.

Wallace deserves to be left back this season.

Left back in fucking Luxembourg.

Judging by tonight's performance, he's not good enough for the Luxembourg National Division.

They're not the most cowardly when defending but cowards all the same.

Defensively I've never forgiven Tav for his disgraceful performance in the new year old firm game, one of the worst defensive displays I've ever witnessed.

He was so bad that day that Rob Kiernan was shouting at him, that's a sure sign that you're in the wrong line of work

The signings would suggest not, but he has to do something to get a supply to players in the box. Kranjcar breathing out his arse yards behind play and Miller going walkabout slowly won't do it...
