Redcafe claiming this, which is ridiculous, hes trying to intercept a pass with a slide and only done so to stop it going through to Mbappe who was offside and interfering with the play.

Only plausible explanation for it, as wrong as it is.

It is, but is re-judged when the last pass is made (I.e the defender getting the touch). Not agreeing with it but it's the only explanation for the decision

So if he doesn’t try to stop pass and let’s it go through to Mbappe he’s offside but because he tried to intercept it he’s onside?

what an absolute nonsense.

Where did they drag that rule up from, never seen it or heard of it before. :hmmm:

Belgiums first goal against Russia in the euros was similar, Lukaku was miles offside when the ball was played but defender touches it. Absolute bullshit rule

Never saw that one.

For me if the player is offside then that is what should be the decision, this defender touching it after could only be used with VAR surely, no linesman looking along the line for offside could be expected to then change their mind if a player at the pother side of the field maybe touches the ball after he has raised his flag for the offside. Nuts.

Easiest Group possible for Scotland.

Not so much England though.

If they got Iceland or Bosnia that would have been the perfect draw for them and would arguably have been faves to win the group. Expecting them to finish second behind Ukraine tbh.
