peter huistra 1,740
20 years of age 5ft 8 typical arsenal type midfielder wee and neat tidy looks like he can play left and right, might be good cover for Kent. Hopefully we can trim some of the squad but then replace with better, never a better time in football to be picking up good quality 19-20 years old who might not be getting contracts renewed when normally they would be. This kid was offered 3 years by Arsenal and knocked it back.

If that's true I'd question his ambition. Why would he reject a deal at Arsenal to then go on trial with other clubs.
tom1780 1,219
Maybe wants first team action or knows he’s not going to be playing regular for them ??

Depends who's a head of you in the team, and how good you rate your own potential and ability and advice from wherever. It's good for us if he's of real quality it's only a trial though so wait and see.

esquire8 42,900
Coming off a big cruciate injury at a young age, had big competition not only in the 1st team but the youth coming through in his position and seems a big enough prospect. Don't mind this signing if he impresses in his trial.

Tbf he probably took one look at the players in his position up here and clearly sees an opportunity. We play Barker week in week out ffs!

TMB 14,167
Arsenal offering him a new contract doesn't mean they viewed him as a potential first-team player. Liverpool put all their youth players on long contracts too, before loaning them out, then punting them. It's a money making exercise. Can Tormey come in and do a job now? Is he better than Barker, Jones, Stewart, etc? We need a RW who can come in and perform against celtic and Galatasaray in the weeks ahead.

Kent, Hagi, Roofe and Aribo are the main 4. Everyone else is fucking garbage at the club currently. Tormey could easily go ahead of Barker in the pecking order. KeyserSoze 14,575
Youngsters go on loan all the time for many reasons. But certainly never because of lack of ambition ffs.

Has Barker, Jones, Stewart ever shown they are better than Tormey for all their time at the club? None of them 3 have ever turned up and should be shown the door asap. I did say midfield/number ten role, theres basically no easy path to the first team for him at an age when he'll need first team football, To me its a pointless signing if we sign him
