Obviously needs to be an understanding there but surely the manager isn't picking the DOF? HG5

Beale needs to focus on the team. Don't see how the manager leading the scouting team is a bad thing?

Seems strange he’d pick him mate but maybe both want to work with each other rather than one picking the other?

Think its more to do with the time beale would need to free up to not only deal with the scouting team and all the reports, but then the time needed to both deal with our board regarding finances once he has initiated contact with a players club and agent etc Say beale tells his scouts he's looking for a type of player, the scouts will return a list of x amount (could be ten or twenty players), beale would then have to contact each club and initiate negotiations to see what the cost will be, then go to the board to find out what we are willing to do Once the list is whittled down to the players we can afford, beale then has to negotiate again with the player he most wants and their club, if its unsuccessful he moves to the next and so forth Its just seems like a hell of a lot of work away from coaching the squad he has, and thats just time required for transfers and contract negotiations bluenose48
