He's set us back years Beale. Don't belive a word of what's he's saying.

Apparently also took a wage cut and wouldn't have come if he knew Robertson and Wilson was leaving.

Would he be saying the same things if he was successful here absolutely not.

That last paragraph is a bit strange mate.

Blindingly obvious he wouldn’t  be saying the same if he was successful.

Just as we wouldn’t be saying the first paragraph either.

And if he never came here at all none of us would be saying any of it (including this post)

Sky Sports had a good piece about how Chelsea have restructured their wage bill from something like an average of 200k p/w per first team player much lower.

But then they have a lot of add ons for appearances, success etc.

Not that Chelsea are a good example of running a football club..

But I’m guessing we aren’t the savviest when it comes to contract structuring. Just one example where we have probably suffered from a lack of expertise.

Seems far too easy for players to sit and collect a wage with almost 0 incentive to get themselves a move. Or even get themselves fit and starting whilst they’re here.

Lot easier to offer players addons etc when they already have a decent wage and are playing in London

We are in a shitty league in a shitty city, players likely want guaranteed income to come here

Yeh especially guys coming from the championship like Davies, Lawrence, Cantwell who have been on those big English wages. And want a guaranteed pay day. But that hasn’t really worked out for us.

There’s obviously a balance but we do seem to be closer to one extreme of getting stuck with shite.

Every other team in world football seems to be able to sign players who are ready to play.

We can't start Cerny who played 25 games last season and had a full pre season, but we can start Cortes in the first game of the season after 6 months out injured?

Can’t disagree with this

Well, that's been a very depressing transfer window.  I can't help but feel that more work could have been done earlier, it really wasn't that massive a risk that players might leave later in the window to clear some wages.

It still feels like our recruitment often consists of finding the cheapest capped players available, often because they've fallen by the wayside or not lived up to the hype when younger.

If PC walks, it's not going to be easy to recruit a new manager with an offer of no transfer funds and having to shift players like Matondo.  And what is the financial plan from here, just unwinding player trading?  Spending less is one thing, but there also needs to be some sort of plan to win things.

And what gullible cunt gave all the money to Beale of all people, fuck's sake. :ang:

If Transfermarkt is accurate then Clement has spent the exact same as Beale did last summer but has had a much larger net spend.

Now the window is done. We need to sort out the recruitment side of this club going into January and beyond.

Why did we miss out on so many targets started with cordoba and ended with Edozie last night. It all just felt abit scatter gun with no clear plan. People won't like this but are Koppen & Clement struggling to sell the vision to these prospective new players cause it would seem that way.

When is the new CEO being appointed that's crucial to making sure the club runs smoothly.

No expectation of this group of players this season I think we are well short of quality.

How was it scattergun? It seems like when we missed out on someone a similar type of player came in instead.

Because Clement has had to liquidate the shite left behind which hasn't been easy.

Doesn't change the fact that Beale didn't get all the money to spend as Clement has spent the same amount of money this summer compared to last summer.

Im surprised we've spent as much tbh considering we're supposed to be skint, the stadium shambles and losing out on 5 million by getting beat off Kiev.

You could say it's the same money being recycled. Beale (and others) bought shite, Clement resells the shite and hopefully buys better.

I'm not unhappy at the recruitment this window.   I think we have done well to reduce the wage bill significantly whilst bringing in young players.  Of all the players who have gone and were playing regularly we seem to have replaced with equal or better.  The financial plan is to break even as soon as possible.   We need to cut costs to do that.   The manager has to do what every manager does in trying to win trophies through transfer deals and tactics.
