Gers Miss Scotland Friendly

Shit happens, I reckon he should rest it up until the next Scotland game but then pull out of that too.

I was waiting for this, Boab. Not that I don't agree.

You know Doc, I've got nothing against the big yin but I think that we should be looking out for his well being.

He has a life after football and its important he can walk well when he retires so resting his body is essential. If it meams missing games, then thats just unlucky.

Yes Boab, I know how highly you think of him and that you are only thinking about what is best for him and more importantly the club and our chances of winning trophies. :D

Gers Trio Out Of Scots Squad

RANGERS trio Christian Dailly, Barry Ferguson and Lee McCulloch have all been withdrawn from the Scotland squad for Wednesday's friendly with Croatia.

Dailly is nursing a broken bone in the small toe of his right foot and he was pulled out of George Burley's inaugural match as manager yesterday.

He has been joined by skipper Ferguson and midfield man McCulloch, who are also unable to face the Croatians.

Ferguson, of course, is troubled by an ankle problem which forced a visit to a specialist in England last week were he received an injection.

McCulloch has been having problems with a thigh injury which flared up again after Saturday's 2-1 win over Hibs.

That leaves Allan McGregor and Kris Boyd with the Scotland group while Stevie Naismith is with the under-21s who play Finland at Pittodrie on Wednesday ahead of the full international with Croatia at Hampden.

Sasa Papac has gone to join Bosnia for their friendly with Macedonia, Steve Davis is in Belast for Northern Ireland's game with Georgia while Brahim Hemdani is with the Algerian squad and Thomas Buffel could play for Belgium against Morocco

Dailly, Ferguson and McCulloch will now receive treatement at Murray Park and it is expected that all three WILL be fit to face Celtic in Saturday's lunchtime showdown at Ibrox.

not overly surprised to be honest. With so many important games coming up, I'm not surprised BF LMc and CD are ' injured' for a nothing friendly. It's the best way Walter can with draw them without causing conflict with Burley etc. Smith has been there as Scotland boss, so knows the importance of getting players for qualifying games etc, so will make sure his players are un injured, etc

Absolutely superb news, a weeks rest is exactly what they all need. Just hope that Naismith, Papac, Hemdani and Davis come through their matches unscathed!
