Och well, we're still in it.

Lets beat France like in the WC Final!

Theres no extra time or penalties though.

There will be pens. When two teams are equal on points and have the same number of goals for and against going into the last group game against each other, there will be a penalty shootout if they draw.

Didn't know that. Cheers (tu)

A joy to watch, great game!

To play the campions and runners-up of the last WC and come out with a goal difference of +6 is an amazing achievement.

I still don't think Holland will win it though.

so many good games in this tournament, and the coverage is so much better without England in it cos they don't spend the whole time talking about England.

Spain should win this one I reckon, Sweden have some solid players but Spain have that bit extra

they still manage to mention them from time to time though :lol: the best one was how it could have been england v germany the other day, rather than croatia v germany. doh

Tie-breaking criteria

According to the official UEFA rules for the tournament[13], the following tie-breaking criteria will apply, in this order, should two or more teams from the same group finish with an equal number of points. In keeping with previous European championships, the head to head record between the tied teams takes precedence over goal difference.

Number of points earned in matches between the teams in question;

Goal difference in matches between the teams in question;

Goals scored in matches between the teams in question;

Goal difference in all group matches;

Goals scored in all group matches;

In cases where exactly two teams are equal in all previously listed critera and play one another to a draw in their final group match, kicks from the penalty mark will be conducted in lieu of the remaining criteria;

Coefficient from the qualifying competitions for the 2006 FIFA World Cup and 2006/08 UEFA European Football Championship (points obtained divided by the number of matches played);

Fair play conduct of the teams in the group stage;

Drawing of lots.

so accordingto that there can be penalty kicks.

but

Qualification

The Netherlands have qualified for the quarter finals as Group C winners.

Romania will advance if they beat the Netherlands.

If Romania and the Netherlands draw:

The winner of Italy-France will advance.

Romania will advance if Italy and France draw.

If Romania lose to the Netherlands:

The winner of Italy-France will advance.

If Italy and France draw:

Italy will advance if the Italy-France match is a score draw (ie 1-1, 2-2, etc).

If Italy-France ends 0-0:

And Romania lose by 1 or 2 goals, Romania will advance.

And Romania lose by 3 goals and score at least 1 goal, Romania will advance.

And Romania lose 3-0 or by more than 3 goals, Italy will advance.

according to that, there is no way there can be pnalty kicks between italy and france.

they're always going to mention England, but at least they actually do a match build up and not do an in-depth reconstruction of Englands last game rather than talk about the game we're about to watch
