I'd like to see him operating behind those two, with a front three that includes two wingers, much like our 4-5-1 last season, when we attacked as 4-3-3.

Now that Ferguson is back there is no "Thommos role" Edu will provide cover for midfield and, in case of emergency, central defence.

Before yesterdays result I think we really lacked someone with Thomsons ability to protect the back 4,

But if Edu is given the correct role I think he may not be far off the standard Thomson was playing at before he got injured, at least now we can say at least we have back up for most positions

If he did get Thomson's role, the only way that would make any sense would be dropping Ferguson (barring a formation change), and we all know how likely that is.

nah, won't happen - ferguson, mendes and davis are shoe-in's in midfield and with miller & boyd up front that only leave on position left midfiled and da beasley should sew that one up if he can keep fit for a few weeks in a row

Ferguson and Mendes can't play in the same team. Unfortunatley the best players don't always make the best team. Would like to see Edu given his chance. We are missing Thomson badly

Edu would slot in nicely to Thommos role, its gonna be interesting how thats gonna be done though. I cant see Davis, Mendes or Ferguson making way.
