bluenose_72 198
That's the Canes not playing until Tuesday, after beating the Penguins the other night. If you can, look for the highlights of the Canes v Maple Leafs and Penguins games - Cam Ward was unbelievable. He basicly won us both of the games. On NHL On the Fly the guy was saying in the last 2 games Ward has had 64 shots to deal with, and he has only conceded one. That is a worrying figure in terms of our defence, but for Ward that is just outstanding. Oh, and the Canes game v NY Rangers could be shown on NASN - it is that viewer vote thing. Nobody is playing until Tuesday - All Star break.

bluenose_72 198
Thrashers 0-2 Stars with around 5 minutes left. This is the poorest the Thrashers have played since the start of the year.

Sorry BN, that was a pretty poor Thrashers team...Turco had a good game though Such an uninspiring display! I didn't even think Dallas had to play that well to win. Lehtonen was the only Thrasher that can say he played well, some of his saves were world class. That wasn't the Thrashers team that beat Nashville 7-2 and the Devils 4-0 just a couple of weeks ago Turco made a couple of key saves. Saved a Kovy shot just in front of the net early on and made 2 good saves when the Thrashers were on the powerplay.

andy500 463
Just about 5 minutes in to Carolina v. Thrashers. Still 0-0. We're looking the much better team right now, lets hope we keep it up. A win for the Canes would see us go into a playoff spot, but I think we have played 1/2 games more than the teams round about us.
andy500 463
Yes! The game was just evening itself out, and after a bit of Atlanta pressure, Cullen breaks away 1 on 0 and scores shorthanded. 1-0 Canes, 7 minutes in.
andy500 463
Another 1 on 0 break away sees Ray Whitney score, and Carolina take a 2-0 lead. A positive start to a game that we must win. Just over a minute to go in the 1st. Our next three games:- Canucks (a) Sharks (a) Coyotes (a)

andy500 463
1-1 between the Canes and Colorado. Staal has went to the dressing room after taking a hit, the commentators say he was holding his shoulder. It's been about 5-6 minutes now and he hasn't re-emerged. Not looking good for us Edit - Good stuff, he came back out during the ad-break and is on the ice at the moment!
bluenose_72 198
With the 09/10 approaching, I thought I'd give this a bump. So, lets have a look at the big moves during the off season - Marian Hossa joined the Chicago Blackhawks and will probably lose in the Stanley Cup final - again. The Bulin Wall joined Edmonton from Chicago. The injury prone Marian Gaborik joined the Rangers. The Canadiens have a completly new look team after getting Scott Gomex, Mike Cammalieri, Travis Moen and others. Mike Komisarek joined the Maple Leafs, replacing Pavel Kubina who was traded to Atlanta. Vaclav Prospal joined the Rangers. And Nik Antropov joined Ilya Kovalchuk and the Atlanta Thrashers. Also rumours that Nik Zherdev(who had apparently signed for a KHL team) is close to signing in Atlanta. As for the entry draft, the top 3 was as expected - John Tavares was drafted by the New York Islanders, Victor Hedman to Tampa and Matt Duchene joined the team he has always supported, the Colorado Avalanche. Evander Kane went 4th overall to Atlanta, with Brayden Schenn(the younger brother of Toronto's Luke Schenn) heading to L.A.
