Fully expected this to happen, although I'm slightly disappointed he didn't beat Chad Dawson just to shut the Americans up once and for all.

I think had Kelly Pavlik beat Bernard Hopkins then Joe might have fought him, but I suppose the time is right for him to bow out.

Hopkins' win over Pavlik, and the convincing manner in which he did it, should highlight just how impressive the win over B-Hop was for Joe.

His fights against Lacy and Kessler are two of my favourites ever, for different reasons. Against Lacy he was as close to perfect as I think I've seen in the ring, and the Kessler fight was just brilliant to watch, two absolute warriors battling it out. Terrific entertainment.

A great boxer and a great record but sadly only fought less than a dozen competitive fights. Warren held him back too long and this will always tarnish his legacy.

He is a great boxer no doubt but he has only had a couple of good fights before Hopkins , Roy Jones , James Tony He Just beat bums

Good for him ... they usually fight on too long and live to regret it so glad he has the brains to go out at the top
