Jimmy Speirs - WW1 and The Battle of the Somme
terry739 replied to falkirkNS's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
The Thiepval Memorial only lists the names of the missing from the Somme battlefields! If remains are found and can be identified they are buried with full military honours and the name taken from the Thiepval Memorial. Unidentified remains are buried with full honours but the headstone is for an unknown soldier. My grandfather and his brother were both there with 36th (Ulster) Div. Luckily both came home! Sleep well brothers! -

'SHOULD the protection' is the phrase you're looking for, unfortunately he's wearing a Rangers shirt so he'll never get protection from them!

Exactly as it happened (and is still happening) over here in Northern Ireland!

If I remember correctly the 10 match ban was the "minimum" sentence for the racist offence!

Well said! Over here we're still living with it even at funerals! -
remember years ago in The Highlander in Peurto Rico waiting on kick-off - We'd just signed him and someof the Rangers lads were sitting at my table (place was full). They were talking about him and wondering what he was like, nobody knew much about him (except Walter!). We (Northern Ireland) had recently beaten Spain 3-0 and Stevie was MoM so I told them about him and said "He's our future captain" and so he was until he left after the melt-downt! A great footballer AND a great Ranger!

What a guy! Brave to the end! Loved you as a player and you showed us all how to behave at the end! Never forgotten. R.I.P. Fernando.

saw earlier on that he's in trouble with his club was at the game last night without their permission! Shouldn't even have been in Glasgow!
-
Remember it well!

All ya gotta do is ask! £10 sent! Brilliant work, Guys! -
Thursday night seems an option since he should be in a good mental state after scoring that goal.? We might then see the real Borna. Unfortunately it's a "Must Win!" so SG may not think that way! Probably Safety First?
-
Met him (very briefly) outside the ground before a Saturday game while my son got his autograph! A real gent and an incredible footballer!
-
Might replace Goldson, Gerrard said last week in an after match interview that Katic was playing so well that he couldn't be dropped and was keeping Hellander out of the team!
-
That appeals to my sense of humour....BUT! I've absolutely no time for the Republic in any shape or form not just football! So, Josh, stick with Scotland, son, unless you can find some way to play for us?

Places to watch the game in Abu Dhabi
terry739 replied to Perth_Campsie_Ger's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Sorry, mate, as I said I watched a gers game there but didn't know if they showed all Gers games. There were 2 or 3 footie games being shown when we were there. Can't remember the name of the bar, I'll try to find out from the wife. -
