  1. I can't comment really on Captains I haven't seen, before my time although Jock "Tiger" Shaw has always been lauded in books I've read & both grandfathers & my Dad used to mention him with high praise. In my lifetime it'd have to be John Greig, Richard Gough & Barry Ferguson in that order. After that it'd be a toss-up between Derek Johnstone & Tavernier.
  2. Apologies if this has appeared before. A young Walter Smith flanked by Alex Willoughby & Jim Forrest (or Burke & Hare as they were known). Bishopbriggs Amateurs in the 60s
  3. It was a European Cup play off after the tie finished 5-5 on aggregate.
  4. He also said "the absence entirely of Kemar Roofe, who wasn't even among the subs. Now that was a glaring omission.."
  5. George McLean - 14th August 1963 v Queen of the South in a League Cup Group game. We won 5-2 & went on to win the Group beating celtic 3-0 home & away. Beat Morton in the Final 5-0. Jim Forrest got 4. Still got the programme - & the newspaper report but bit difficult to read. Well it is after you cut & pasted.
  6. There we go. He was playing for Hearts at the time.
  7. I seem to remember Willie Johnston followed through on Provan in a subsequent game when he did it once too many times?
  8. I missed this game due to my niece's 21st & what a performance I missed. Happy retirement Kris. Thanks for the memories.
  9. Yes, definitely. Big fan. Scored a few against Them & the first goal v Bayern Munish in the ECWC Sf.
