Acknowledging the fact we've just sold a player who never made a first-team appearance for as much as most high-end domestic transfers in Scotland isn't an "Auchenhowie summer", it is however an opinion that the current group of players in the Academy have a number of particularly promising players who, while they may not go on to have careers like a Sandy Jardine or Ally McCoist they could prove valuable players to the club. It's positive news not something backup is a fan of.

Albeit welcome facilities, but these ponces should be ponying up for by themselves. As for moving in the right direction, no fucking chance with this board and not that these facilities will do much for getting a better first team. All credit to the fans who contributed to RFFF, but not this fucking board. Maybe it is another soft loan to be turned into shares or profit when the slitty eyed squillionaire rocks up to buy the club. Whatever, I'd love to know who sanctioned it and the promises made in return for it being handed over. The smell of rat is never far away from these "deals"
Courtyard Bear 41,357
They could’ve built all those facilities and got more of them if they had dumped the idea of a stand. But then a training block doesn’t have the same ring to it, I guess.

Wonder if we will see a detailed cost breakdown for the build so we know exactly where the money was spent?????
saltire266 502
The money should have been spent cleaning Ibrox and replacing the aged plastic shite.

I’m sure when this was first proposed, it never went to a bidding process between contractors. One was just picked that was known to the RFFF committee. Dont know if they have continued to be the contractor of choice, because we don’t get told anything.

Are all our legal battles confirmed as finally over? What if 1872 got a seat on the Board and unearthed things warranting legal actions (ie aspects of 5 way agreements, monies we have been deprived of)? Seems a bit premature regardless of what it's been spent on.

theweebluenose 4,332
Nobody thinks improving our training facilities is bad news, it's the way they've used this money which wasn't intended just to save them parting with their own cash. So tell me, who should have a say in the use of RFFF funds, surely only those who contributed to it & if So, how does that work .. I put my money in a tin/bucket like lots of folk so there isn' a register of those who donated Also, I've not seen any agreement of any propoal put forward for RFFF cash, no matter what it was there was a section who would say "it wasn't meant for that". The cash should just sit in an account, it' now being used to help facilitate the next group of potential RFC stars & I can't think of anything nobler than that. An element would disagree the money they put in should be used for a pub for example. Should the money be used to reap profits or to the develop the playing side? At least the money is being put into facilities designed to develop our youth. Should help attract better youth players and develop the youngsters.
