jcb 1,167
168, just finished watching some shinty match...now thats a sport that requires bottle, fucking mentalists The local derby up here is akin to the Ayrshire juniors in football. Last game resulted in 3 red cards including a assault on the referee and virtually every challenge finishing with punches thrown. One boy suspended for 2 years(back playing football). True Azure 1,414
Any options for those of us in the states?I'm coming over in a few weeks, when I'm in the States I usually find a good streaming site if there is no Rangers supporters club nearby, try this, I don't know if they will have the game though.http://www.12thplayer.com/

6superbarry6 14,159
surely the commentary will be in English,I know its a Gaelic channel but viewing figures will go through the roof so surely they will have English commentary to accomodate all these extra viewers. 6superbarry6 14,159
Wouldn't that rather defeat the original objective though?Which is?I would have thought that the objective of every tv channel would be to get as many viewers as possible and to provide them as the customers with a product that they are happy with. Alba is not a glory hunting scheme to catch huge viewing figures.
Guest KarlG45
I'd just like to point out for bears living abroad that there's a vpn service called witopia which gives you a virtual address in the uk, which means you can watch iplayer/itv etc online.it does indeed work for bbc alba, as I'm sitting watching Wallace & Gromit in Gaelic at the moment
StornowayBlue 630
they could have English commentary available via the red button meaning the viewers would have the choice of both English and Gaelic commentaryThis is a better suggestion than subtitles, however still defeats the purpose of what BBC Alba are trying to achieve.Am getting a wee bit fucked off with this now tbh, if it was in French German or Spanish id see your point. Its Scottish football on a Scottish TV channel, commentary in our Scottish language, if you don't understand it, don't knock it, don't try and change it. Embrace it or go watch the London olympics
OneDavidCooper 2,505
they could have English commentary available via the red button meaning the viewers would have the choice of both English and Gaelic commentaryThey probably can't actually. The channel is to promote gaelic. The channel is funded purely for that purpose.
