There's a financial theory in all this- and admittedly I'm speculating.
He's not set the heather on fire with his performances and probably in training too and this has all flared up and the club has grasped an opportunity to get rid of a lucrative contract. The end game being barton's agent lines up another club and they agree to terminate his contract and go separate ways.

We don't know the full story, nor do we condone unprofessional behaviour, but wake up and smell the coffee ffs. Our troubles run far deeper than Barton and he is far from being the worst of it.

Miller might be the best we have but he's not match sharp and our mantra the whole Summer was "It's good to get the new boys in early because we're more prepared, we're more ready" (not from where I've been sitting). I agreed with the team selection bar Miller, he's done nothing thus far to justify a place, yes he scored but he should have had a hat-trick just about in the first half.
O'Halloran should have been through the middle today and if it never worked out Miller or Dodoo could have came on (I'm a minority here but I think our best hope at carving teams open is a quick ball through for him to run on to).
Forrester should have been subbed when he was cruising for a red - he gets red carded and we'd have drawn that.
Defence is crying out for Amo, Weir, Cuellar, Bougherra, even BIG FUCKIN MARVIN- all bar the last would be out of our price bracket these days but by fuck we need a Marvin Andrews at the least or we'll lose goals to fuck all crosses into the box every week.
Considering our crossing/longball-ability we should have a target man or a CF that can score a header in a team cause if we aren't going to play quick through balls to O'Halloran/Miller/Dodoo we're on a hiding to nothing up front with tippy-tappy-allow-the-whole-team-to-get-back-and-defend stuff.
I thought we were more direct to be fair and I felt Halliday more than justified his start, glad to see Kranjcar on the bench because that's what he's worth until he proves otherwise (I think bringing him on against tired alamo teams is his game currently).
I could say more and it's not all on the negative side but I just feel we're seeing serious warning signs both in personnel and in management and against 2 bottom 6 teams we've looked like we'd be joining them more than a side pushing for the title. One way or another we're finding ways not to get out of 2nd gear and it'll cost us, I want to think that it's all part of a carefully crafted plan to try and limit Celtics spending and things like that but it could perhaps be more convincingly argued that the management needs to wisen the fuck up.

As I said earlier, any of these guys who think they can tell people how to support Rangers and what to wear also better be able to dodge and weave like Muhammad Ali could in his heyday, it sounds like we are now in the position where Bears are at risk of being abused/assaulted for wearing a club jersey.
The ironic thing is that most of the folk doing the pulling up will be wearing Lionbrand gear or a red and black scarf

In the original thread I said @K.A.I was wrong to slate Robertson as I felt his statement at the time did not warrant the reaction, I also said we should wait and see how the club dealt with it.
This is exactly c1872 raison d'etre! Time for them to speak up in defence of the fans. It shouldn't matter that they're having to speak up against the club.
It is disgusting any action is being taken prior to court proceedings, far less against fans who were quite clearly provoked and in many cases trying to protect fellow fans and players. 
I'm assuming some of the banning notices are to fans who haven't been charged. I really hope it is an exercise in placation and indefinite means a couple of weeks...but it still stinks from our club...to be honest even more so that many of those fans will have paid for STs they can no longer use. 

What do I expect from the club? ... how about for them to stand firm on their fantastic statement that united the supporters more than anything else I've ever seen. They said (to paraphrase) the Rangers fans were under extreme provocation and they won't blame them etc.

That's the ban letters out now from Rangers. Who were the ones on here that had a go at me again when I went right through that Stewart Robertson for saying any offenders will be banned and you's all said stuff like come back to me when fans actually get banned and that he's only saying it for show to keep people happy.
