  1. Kinda saw it coming when he left a rising Thistle side without a moments hesitation. Selling off DU's top players to their 'rivals' was always going to result in pitiful results. Pity Aberdeen couldn't manage a result today just to make the 'tic more sick and round off a nice day.
  2. I've come around to thinking this is probably a good idea, maybe he could have a word with our defence.
  3. The players and the fitness we have should far and away put the likes of St Johnstone to the sword. We have had some great stuff from Warburton and these boys but lets be honest: they were not good enough last night and Rangers should not be losing 3 goals to a team like St Johnston.
  4. Not signing a player is not a major f*ck up in anybody's definition. Our manager has not made any errors yet. I trust him to know exactly what he is doing. This guy will be filling a coaching role to some extent and if it makes our manager feel at home and happy having him around then it is well worth the time invested. If he can play even a few games at the level Warburton expects and demands we will have a useful addition to a fairly compact squad.
  5. Rangers cannot afford to be overly sentimental, we are a serious football club and a serious business. In keeping with the utterly professional way Warburton goes about his business I would expect every level of our club to work in a similar fashion, utmost professionalism, utterly demanding, pushing for the best. If Gough fills that position with the desired drive and integrity then that is just swell... but how do we know and how do we measure it? Most of us on here would rather see any extra cash being made available to our manager, for players, for technical staff, for coaches, for his dinner money or whatever he wants to use it on. Not putting Gough down in any way.
  6. No offence meant to Richard Gough and all his achievements but past experience warns us about employing someone with only the vaguest of remits and no idea how much we are paying them to do whatever it is they are supposed to be doing. We need strikers, directors of football, coaches, more than we need some body dishing out Ferrero Rocher.
  7. Hope the Dons go 21 points to Celtic's 16, that would be a laugh, but seriously, at the top of the table and the crowd is only about 13,000. Pathetic really.
  8. Revenue, yes, raised profile, yes, improved squads and natural challenge for team-manager-players, yes. Of course, in every area, Europe is absolutely where we need and want to be. Our players will always need to be pushed, everyone at the top of their chosen career needs this. Our team may be distracted from the home league but only as long as they remain in a competition, and we are Rangers so it should be a challenge we welcome. Increased spending on our squad, unavoidable if you think about it, we will be spending anyway and the speculation leads to accumulation if you add in tv and competition money and other revenue.
  9. Lee Wallace should be nowhere near Scotland, don't want any class Rangers player risking un-needed injury.
  10. Tav and Wallace for certain are right up there, some of the loans will not be staying unless we are really lucky, need a world class striker and a world class goalie.
  11. There should be no mistake Bears, putting this charlatan on gardening leave was a smart move, and the only reason he has taken this deal is because he now wants to take up a lucrative job elsewhere, The gardening leave locked him in and it reveals everything to anyone with eyes in their head. Ally has little genuine regard for our club or Rangers supporters in general. The club have been overly generous but done the only thing they could do to get shot of the man.
  12. Who gives a f*k, as long as our team and club can take their money. Welcome one and all.
  13. Haw boss, Stubbs dropped his wage packet, here, look. That canna be right.
  14. Aye, so if 45,000 Bears roll up at Ibrox you only 'rate' 8000 of them. By that reckoning Rangers could only pull in a few thousand each year and Warburton and all the current players would tell you to f*ck off! Never measure other supporters love of the club. Just support us, all of us.
  15. A certain A. McCoist to be charged with impersonating a manager.
  16. Schadenfreude would be a pleasure at the misfortunes of relative strangers. Revenge is when bastard parasites like these get nailed to the wall. I think you are talking about revenge or justice, not schadenfreude.
  17. I don't want anything to do with them this season. I don't want them to get a penny out of us. I don't want them hacking and injuring our young players. I don't want them getting in our way until Warburton is good and ready for them next season in the league where we belong. Then I want to see them squirm.
  18. Had a lot of respect and admiration for Davie Weir before but after reading this it's possibly gone up even more.
  19. We'll get praise and credit from everyone before BBC Mediocrityland ever say anything praiseworthy about us.
  20. We will get a few games from this genius, and then we might find some other player, and then we will find some other player after that, the main factor in all this is the true gem... Warburton. The respect he is held in by top teams and managers is everything.
  21. For every football team/business the fans have to pay for everything. Maybe not directly, but always, eventually: everything from tv rights and tickets and shares and shirts. It doesn't work any other way.
  22. So excited to see this kid is on from the start tonight.
  23. I agree with a lot you say GOAT but we don't need to spend until this season is in the bag, this team and this manager are well on their way (a striker might be useful, and Eustace to be fit and good for an extended period maybe). Full stadiums, cup runs, and exciting football will generate money, and additional sales are an added bonus, but of course we will need to invest and build once we are guarantee'd to move up to the next level.
  24. The way Warburton and Weir have built this team and cleared the decks is nothing short of remarkable. Takes brains and nerve and Warburton has certainly got these great qualities.
