Im going to be contraversial and add Thomson and Davis to the selling pot. Thommo is out of contract next summer I believe and if we can get £3M for him I would take it. Davis still has stock in the EPL and we would get a decent fee for him maybe another £5M at least. So in this summer we would have got rid of most of the big earners, got decent fees in and could buy Ally a young squad to develop without fear of having to sell every year to make up the losses.

Don`t remember him building the Stadium Brother try giving the acalade to David Holmes OK Ill bite, he had nothing to do with those signings as well.

Anyone else think this is just a case of SDM looking at the supposed £3M he is going to make out of the Ellis deal and thinking no thanks? If this means continuing with the status quo for the forseeable future then I cannot see how we can look to be a major player in the game. With no chance of CL money for the SPL winners unless they get past the qualifiers we have no guarenteed big incomes and so I cannot see how our debt is going to be serviced. If its dropping by a mere £3.5M supposidly WITH CL participation and serious downsizing, Im quite a concerned Bear at the moment.

I've a lot of sympathy for wanting Ibrox to be bigger than Porkheid but if you look at annual average attendances since records began then 50k - 60k is enough. Obviously we could get 80k+ for certain games but these would be few and far between. i know what your saying mate, but we are record breakers should we not have the biggest ground in Scotland? i think we should not you sifter, but i think the lack of ambition from some fans is quite sad, we are supposed to be this huge club, known world wide, yet we have a ground which is smaller than Hampdump(im sure) and The Glitterdome, i dont think thats good enough No point in having the biggest ground if its only going to be 2/3rds full apart from 6 games a year. Would be a huge waste of money IMO. Lets get Ibrox full week in week out before contemplating extending it.

From the evidence of his 8 wins out of 8, I fail to see why the OP has come up with this post. Sure, league was over but the games were there to be won, and he beat us at the first time of asking. Also we have just lost the first 4 players of a very thin squad.

You really think we'd pay someone £1.5m in wages a season, on top of a signing on fee, and bonuses... not a fcuking chance! The day's of us paying big wages, and transfer fees have gone! Can we compete in Europe paying players 10 - 20k a week muff? i think its possible with the right coach. something has to change, either we pay more to get better players or our coaches get their fingers out, or do we just accept humiliation in Europe every year? I think 1 or 2 on 30k a week should be sustanable for us, look at the amount of money we have freed up in the last few years and the books look on the up now too even with the debt. We cant afford really to free up much more money from wages(although i wouldnt mind losing McCullochs wage off our bill!) or no one will be left in our squad but surely there must be something there to get us a better calibre of player. Petrov or not, we need wingers, we need a goalscorer and they must be better than what we have surely? Anyone expecting us to compete in Europe is beyond deluded, as things stand. Even with Gazza and Laudrup etc, we never competed in Europe. We are so far off the mark there, even Real Madrid cannot compare to the best. Staying on top in Scotland is where we should be aiming and that is as realistic as it gets.
