  1. How many goals did Nugent score in his good season at Burnley? Not all about goals. Fletcher scored very little last season too, 8 goals from 35 appearances. His general hold-up play and ability to bring others into the game were what impressed me about him last season. If you think for a minute you're going to get Nugent for less than £3 million you're deluded. Simple as that.
  2. As DBBTB says, he had a good season at Burnley and his strike partner there is moving for £7 million. Fair enough, Portsmouth are skint but we only have a budget of around £5 million and if we were to get Nugent it would cost the biggest part of that budget. Given we need to strengthen a few other positions and bolster the squad i see it as being a complete no-go. Which is a shame, because Nugent is a good striker on his day and would do well in the SPL.
  3. Expected this to be honest, Wenger never hid the fact he was a fan of Cole. For the player himself it is a no-brainer really. Get to stay in London where him and his family are settled, still playing at the top level in the Champions League and will have a much greater chance of being in the first team due to Arsenal's lack of genuine width. Good signing for both parties.
  4. Some of the older guys from my RSC are heading down to this i think. Hope it is successful.
  5. That article should be given as a presentation to every rich businessman in the country. Fantastic advertisement for buying the club and many of the things he touches on, such as the urban regeneration prospects in the area are things i've never really thought about when considering why someone would want to buy Rangers. Fantastic article, credit to Calscot for that.
  6. What's the criteria, do they need to be British? If not then Gomez or Given. If so then Joe Hart by a country mile.
  7. The stadium is their memorial, they'll always be remembered.
  8. Fuck the World Cup and international football, hurry up and get domestic football back!!
  9. Forget about the fact he has chosen the money over the club he supports, because sadly in this day and age that is the norm. If he goes to either Birmingham or Newcastle there are going to be big problems for him. Both sides are going to be fighting for a respectable position in the table and there is the possibility of either being drawn into a relegation battle. The kind of striker that Boyd is means he needs a strike partner and he needs good service from midfield. He'll get neither of that when the backs are to the wall. He won't create his own chances from nothing and hold the ball up. And that's if he even gets on the pitch. No doubt either of these sides will opt for a 4-5-1 formation when it comes to the more difficult games against the top 6 clubs, home or away. With Boyd being incapable of playing the lone striker role he'll find himself on the bench. It's all downhill from here. Some players don't understand how lucky they are to be at Rangers.
  10. I can only remember one decision of note that was made by the byline assistant and that was the wrongly awarded penalty for Benfica against Liverpool in Lisbon. The ironic thing was that the referee wouldn't have given it, which kind of flies in the face of the philosophy that these guys are supposed to help the referee get more decisions correct. Apart from that i've seen no evidence that they do ANYTHING.
  11. how come? He doesn't approve of singing at football games.
  12. All Blue Order members are relocated to the Govan West Corner for Old Firm games. So if your in the Blue Order you get both Old Firm games? Correct.
  13. Due to most of our group moving further back there is a good chance you'll be able to get a seat pretty far back in BF4, that's where the majority of the group had seats this season.
  14. Good stuff. I'm AA seat 131 so all of you chaps better come and introduce yourselves. I'll likely be the one with no top on.
  15. All Blue Order members are relocated to the Govan West Corner for Old Firm games.
  16. Well done guys, glad you both decided to make the move. Couple of other RMers have done so too. Basically next season could well be the best ever for the group in terms of atmosphere. The club have agreed to move our core members and active singers into the back section, under where the group banner is hung. So instead of being spread across BF4 and 5 we will be a compact unit in those 60 or 70 seats at the back. These go from Row AA down to W. Some of the new members may find themselves in that section so you better be singers. The rest of the group will still be in Rows X-S. Should be bouncing.
  17. The best book i have ever read on the early years of our club, an absolute must for every Rangers fan.
  18. The info was pish, I should have checked before posting.
  19. We've been closed on the stock exchange apparently. Just about to check but if so then that would indicate that a bid has been formally made.
  20. Boss, get back in that bloody classroom.
  21. Tartan Trannies showing their "dignatee" in this thread again. The best fans in the world, don't you know.
  22. Seems to me that The Sun are a tad bitter that Celtic have completely taken the piss out of them here. Liewell has made them look like absolute mugs. They can say they stand by it all they want, it doesn't make it a FACT. The only FACT here is they have been completely stitched up.
  23. I only watched the first half of the game but Edu played pretty well. His goal couldn't have been any easier really, a tap-in after Cech spilled a cross. Matched the Czech midfielders for physical strength and played some good passes. Was impressed with the boy Torres who played alongside him in the centre, and the big lad up front could certainly put himself about.
  24. Likewise, chance to save the pennies for Europe.
