I'd suggest the sacking would be merited but the letter in the post method would see the aggressor quids in. Never the way to deal with it.

Might be wrong but as I see it he's been told to stay away, had a meeting where suspended, then had an extra weeks suspension.  Nothing wrong with that if the club are awaiting a report on , for example, the betting, prior to addressing this as part of the conduct meeting.  Or should they progress when clearly not in a position to?
You expect the club to come clean on internal disciplinary any matters. Oh for the days of airing our dirty kegs in public.
Listen, I wish we had the money to make the matter go away. We'll likely still have to pay some to guarantee confidentiality.
But given we know so little of what's went on (rightly imo) I'll not slate the board because of my impatience or ignorance of businesses dealing with disciplinary issues. 

I understand what you are saying in general, but it is a poor statement IMO, could they not have left the 'week' part out and just said until further notice, which could have been a week. Confused.com.  

I wonder how many other posts there are in this whole thread blaming the board, the board will need to discuss any issues with the legal team and then possibly sit down with Barton and his representatives to find an amicable solution to the problem, if the board just decide to sack Barton with no concrete legal reason for doing so then they and club would end up getting dragged through the courts which could end up costing a lot more than any pay off might.

In the line of work I am in I have been involved in more disciplinary hearings/investigations/appeals than I care to recall.  Never have any of them taken a few days, it does not work like that.  In particular with a case like Barton's where there appears to be many elements (the bust up, betting, going public when I would imagine he was told not too) and there is contracts worth hundreds of thousands at stake.
If it did take few days we would have made a complete arse of it and ended up in court being ordered to pay horrendous amounts in damages.   It doesn't matter what the conclusion is in these matters if the process is not followed correctly the organisation (in this case Rangers) will have serious problems.

It's not like a wee spat on the pitch where the ref gives both players a yellow.
If Halliday warranted formal disciplinary measures taken against him I think the club are demonstrating they would take such measures. Why do you think differently - do you perceive preferential treatment? It's also possible he has been dealt with by way of a formal warning - we just don't know nor should we. 
The obvious scenario is that whatever went on warranted only one player to be suspended.  Barton.
Imo club now hasn't received full info on an aspect of the matter (likely re the betting) so has extended suspension re this.
Exactly the correct decision and process to follow if so.

This is becoming a fucking joke, how many tickets were allocated ffs?  There should be more than enough for everyone who is on CCCS to all get a ticket.  Don't know if every member of RSCs are season ticket holders or on CCCS but as far as I'm concerned those that are season ticket holders and CCCS for these games should be given first priority.

It's out of order. The ticket information came out Tuesday or Wednesday so the ballot could've been done then. I know 9/10 people get paid today but it's still quite short notice for a lot of folk but the TO is a shambles and will stay that way.

Probably  Still I'd rather be happy pished than depressed pished.

You need that as an excuse?  What if you don't?  Will you get pished because of the disappointment?

Why is he in Blackpool?  That bit don't make sense, though he is fighting to be fit for tomorrow I doubt he'll be back in time, Rossiter is definitely out, so it looks like they are the only two that won't be available as Dodoo is also back in full training as are the rest of the squad.

I really couldn't give a shit who starts for them or what the papers say, end of the day it's up to our players to perform to their full potential and to attack them from the start, do that an we could easily win this game.

Getting sick of hearing about how in the semi last season they were below their best and we played the best we could have played.  All I'm hearing is how much they have improved since then, how they have strengthened and how they are going to demolish our suspect defence.
They have played the same amount of competitive games as we have this season and conceded 11 to our 4 and yet no one mentions anything about their defence?  and how exactly have they strengthened?  Sinclair and Toure?  WOW !!
We played them off the park last season with the likes of Shiels, Law and Clark in the team, no disrespect to those three but if they couldn't cope with them how do they think they are going to cope with the likes of Barton, Rossiter, Windass, Kranjcar and MOH ?
I probably say this before every old firm but I have never wanted to win a game so much !!
All this talk of playing 3 at the back or trying to pack the midfield is nonsense, we play the way we always play and attack them from the outset, like we did last season.  High intensity and high pressure in their half of the pitch, don't give them a minute on the ball and we will see who the better side really is !!
