You know, I reckon that there are some who would back another manager, simply because he wasn't McCoist.

It is not as simple as the OP maintains.
Yes there is frustration in the manner in which some victories are earned, however the results recorded are impressive.
Yes we have a side that in financial terms should easily wipe the floor with our current weekly opposition. But this is football, and players are human beings, plus the off field problems and battles have not produced the most stable platform for McCoist to perform from.
Yes McCoist was a great player for us. Yes there is respect for his achievements. Yes that does give him more time. But the real reason he is still in a job is that so far he has achieved all that every CEO since Whyte had asked of him.
So for me, it's not the fans holding back the Club irrespective of whether they back McCoist or not. It is the fans who are keeping the Club alive during a very difficult time.

The record this season is phenomenal. Folk dismiss it as though it's not a valid argument. Id back any manager with a win record like we have. Our will to win and sprint should be of credit to the manager. Rangers teams of the past have survived on such qualities. How many important games did Walter Smith grind out against them, with a few great saves from The Goalie and a sucker punch afterwards to break their hearts. I like that we are displaying some mettle and hope we can develop over the next season and a bit to play with more style.

    Question for Goat.
How can I as a single supporter, who travels 200 miles to go to games, buys Rangers stuff and follows his team, hold Rangers back? What is it that I am doing that is holding us back? If you tell me I can stop as it is all my fault. I apologise to all other Ranger supporters as following your club is now holding them back.

I couldnt care less whether we do this or not. The reality is that Mandela was one of the men of the last century, he led the South African nation to genuine democracy. Yes, he used the gun to fight for this early in his life, but lets not forget such a violent approach was just following on from the brutality of colonial Britain and its treatment of Afrikans families during and after the Boer War. Mandela is to be rightly recognised as one of the true greats of our modern time.

Of course we'll agree to it, its bonkers to believe anything else, Rangers are a business, its potential financial suicide to go against the grain on this, the hit it could have on sponsorship in the short term and long term is too much of a risk.
Nelson Mandela is one of the most iconic names in history, the club putting themselves in a horrid position to appease a vocal minority is just too implausible to comprehend

There's more than a pinch of truth in that. For all Ally's efforts off the field, keeping the Club alive and fighting for justice over our titles thus ensuring Green kept on message in that regard, it seems ridiculous to demand his sacking because the 100% record isn't always pretty enough against teams of hammer-throwers in November. We play in Scotland. Nobody plays like Barcelona, 1970 Brazil or 70's Cruyff inspired Ajax. Winning whilst not fully emulating total football is the sign of champions. It's part of a winning attitude. If we were playing in an aesthetically pleasing manner to the detriment of a winner attitude, we'd have another, more significant problem, in my opinion. No team always fires on all cylinders.Do not underestimate hammering in the right psychology, especially when we have a chance to cement that mindset before returning to the top tier. That's when you might just be grateful that Ally has instilled some grit, determination and, dare I say it, character.

Basically much as expected, we are not going bust by Christmas, more detail provided than ever before, doommongers were talking nonsense, and looks like we are on course to break even this year.

I'm no accountant but it looks not bad to me.
Players wages 43% of turnover. Profit of 1.2m after tax.
Some people will go out their way to make these seem terrible though.
Look forward to Boss's take on them

Without evidence, he is merely offering assertions here and they appear to be wildly speculative and overly optimistic.Too many smokescreens and not enough facts. All he has supplied here is in an unjustified claim and another that he made an offer to invest his "winnings".
Why take it out to reinvest, thus costing the Club more money and also harming investor confidence with yet more bad publicity? It doesn't add up for me.
Again, too many people claiming to care for the Club, yet seem hell bent on harming its reputation or taking cash from the coffers.
Time for them to make good on their laudable words with actions that back them up. Not seeing much evidence of that at all.

    Two questions for Bill:
    1. What contracts will result in Rangers getting £67m over the next five years?
    2. Does IA intend to 'invest' in the club by donating his 'settlement' back to the club or by using the money to buy more shares for himself on the open market?

Show me the contracts, then.Unlike Bill, a wee chat saying "well, I got us £20m from X and £15m from Y" won't convince me.
I share your cynicism on matter.

I'd like some evidence to support the claims that he has concluded 67 million pounds worth of commercial deals that will benefit the club
I'd also like some legal/written assurances he was investing money into the club before I start believing anything IA says.
I still think bill has chosen the wrong horse to back here!

Can't say that's his best interview or that I like his unnecessarily frank views and revealing them so glibly.
However, I care less about political correctness than Rangers and his record is certainly good on that aspect.
Nonetheless, he has needlessly created a shitstorm for himself and the club that we do not need. The media will love this and spin it for all it's worth.
Foolish move Charles. Think a bit more before doing damage.
