I can’t understand why Walter has left Weiss out. Arguably out best player and defiantly our most creative.

Can you honestly say that you felt that the tactics in the last 6 minutes were correct., when we started to defend deep and give all the possession and chances to sporting. Up until then we had been closing them down all over the pitch and they were creating nothing.

last 10 minutes? We tried to do it for 80 mins against celtic a couple of weeks ago even when they were down to 10. I was actually expecting (dreading) it after we had gone 1-0 up and was suprised we kept a fairly attacking mentality.

On around 84 minutes we started to defend deep and give sporting possesion up until then we had been playing really well and were closing them down all over the field. They hadnt had to many chances in the second half and were there for the taking. I was cursing when I saw we had reverted back to the tactics that had served us so well in the second half against celtic a couple of weeks ago. Why change it when they are creating nothing and if anything we were the team that was more likely to score. He completely turned the game on its head with his bull**** tactics once again. If it aint broken dont try to fix it.

I am not really suprised. Smith usually puts out some pretty dodgy lineups for european matches. I am just suprised hes put Weiss in the starting line up, I hope hes on the right instead of been stuck out on the left. I wonder how many goals foster will cost us tonight?

Weiss is head and shoulders above anything else that we have at the club (as long as hes played out on the right). I would go with: ------------------Bartley---------------- Weiss----Davis----Ness----Diouf -----------------Jelavic-----------------

This current Rangers team are strong enough to win the title if they were asked to play to their strengths and not continuously played out of position

Pure and simple, it was the tatics. Every time we go ahead we start to defend deep with two banks of four. We invite the other team onto us, give them the majority of possession due to the fact that we punt the ball back to them every two seconds and make them look better than they actually are. If we had just kept the attacking mentality that we showed in the first ten minutes of the match we would have destroyed them today. We should have been closing them down at every oppertunity (even when they had the ball in their own half). I was calling for Naismith to be subbed for Weiss at half time because the last thing that we wanted was to be put down to 10 men (you could see it coming). Why on earth Diouf and Jelly were subbed was beyond me. We can no longer defend a lead like we did on our uefa cup run and we no longer have the players who can counter attack effectively in that formation. I feel that Weiss and Diouf on the wings with either Ness and Davis or Edu and Davis in the middle is the way to go with Jelly and Naismith up front. Time to stop defending on the edge of our own box and to start playing more attacking football.

I thought the last couple of seasons were'nt great but this season has been woeful. Just shows it was'nt all Boyds doing. Weiss is the only player I actually look forward to watching!

It might be down to the fact that players are always played out of position.

To be fair I think this boy is getting some pretty harsh criticism. In the last couple of games Andy Walker and especially Craig Burley are having digs at him at every opportunity. I remember one of them saying that he cuts inside far too often instead of attacking the by-line more. I think that’s due to the fact that Walters thrown him out on the left wing instead of playing him in his natural position which is on the right. In the first game he came on as a late sub (I think it was against hibs) he played on the right and was devastating. Why does Walter consistently play players out of position on that left hand side? In fact why does he play so many players out of position? Yesterday Weiss was getting slated by the commentators for the goal that we conceded for not covering back. Now surly if anyone was at fault it was Lee Mcculloch who was in a DM position at the time and could have closed the player down slightly better than he did, although in all fairness it has to be said it was a fantastic goal. I keep thinking to myself why does Walt not play Naismith out on the left (since he is more than capable of playing there and in fact did later in the second half) and then play Weiss in his natural position. On another matter I am puzzled why Webster hasn’t got a sniff at the team yet? Our defence seems to be leaking goals this season. Bougies had had a bit of a shaky start in my opinion and I haven’t been too impressed with Foster so far.

I couldn’t agree more. Adam is a central midfielder and was constantly played out wide left. I liked Adam and thought he did okay for us even when he was played out of position. I know he had the odd nightmare. Another player I liked was Burke, he was one of my favourite players and couldn’t believe when we punted him for nothing.

Whats happened to the players (Nacer Barazite and Georgie Welcome) we had on loan a couple of weeks ago? The last I had heard was that the both did well in the game against Partick, but I havent heard any news on them since?

I am flying into Glasgow later today and on the off chance thought I'd see if any of my fellow bears had two spare tickets for the game tomorrow. I know its pretty unlikely since its the last game of the season but you never know. I had tried to get tickets via the hotline but unfortunatly they were sold out. I couldnt agree more. Both players were consistantly played out of their natural position. When Lovenkrands finally got a chance to play through the middle (just before he left us), he put in some really good performances.

Never mind Lafferty over Boyd. Get Novo wide left, Beasley wide right with Davis and Edu in the middle. That will sort our lack of creativity out and get our strikers scoring again.

I couldnt agree more. The club were stalling on giving Boydie the contract and in my opinion offered it 9/12 months to late. They should have made every effort to him up along time ago before other clubs started sniffing around. It wasnt that long ago that they were trying to push him out the door.

The only spell we have played half decent this season (and were destroying teams) is when we had Beasley wide right, Novo wide left and Davis was in the middle. I know Beasley was injured for a while but I am very suprised that we havent reverted back to this lineup/formation now that everyone is fit.
