To be honest, I think this is more tactical, than anything to do with Papac himself. Our fullbacks always tuck right in, leaving the wide mids to defend the wings. Annoys me no end when the players do this, but everyone of them does it, so it must be instructions from smith.

I thought he had a good game out on the left today. With McCulloch and Thomson both sitting, it allowed Fleck and Davis to operate in "free roles" when attacking, which brings out the best in them. I don't have a problem with him playing there if he is given a licence to roam, but obviously prefer him at attacking mid.

He never rejected a contract. Walter has said that it was only Wilson that rejected. He may not have signed yet, but neither has anyone else.

Potential dilemma - just for a bit of fun

Let's just say that I wouldn't be too bothered about our team being made up of 'promising' 15 year olds. -

Any links for the game today apart from P2P?

If there's a link working, I'd love a pm too. Can't get iraqgoals to work -
Any weight to this Miccoli story ?
Garry88 replied to Mcgregorswalloper's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
As much as I'd love to see Miccoli at Rangers, why would Palermo let their captain go on loan. To buy him we're talking upwards of £8 million I reckon, so just cannot see this happening. -
Emir Kujovic will not be signed according to Chick!
Garry88 replied to pcbear's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Hmm, a left footed striker. If we do sign him, how long will it be until he's playing on the left wing? In all seriousness though, it is encouraging that we are looking at young players with potential, playing in cheaper leagues, rather than only buying from Scotland, England and France. -
It's looking awesome guys! Well done!

Are you talking about John Fleck or your man, Kyle Lafferty? You slate Fleck, yet back Lafferty to the hilt and can't see anyone having a go at him That's kind of my point to be honest. Lafferty has scored more than Fleck, yet he is a dud and Fleck is a 'wonderkid'! People believe what they read in the newspapers about Lafferty and judge him on that, yet seem to ignore what they read about 'wonderkid' and his desire to leave Rangers for a 'bgger club'. I genuinely cannot see why people bang on about leck. He has not lived up to his reputation and he does nothing on the park on anything like a consistent basis. Saying otherwise is just delusional. You are a bell end. Witty retort. Are you Peter Ustinov? He's had more time than Lafferty to fulfil his potential. He hasn't and he won't. Wilson and Little are more promising than him by a fucking sight. The fact that you are too thick to see this, means fuck all. How on earth do you come up with that? He's 4 years younger, and has played about half as many games.
-
He was a left mid, and then converted to left back. not really sure which of these is his best to be honest, but atleast we know he attacks down the left from whichever position he starts in.

Great to see. Well done to all involved!

Are we going to drop novo for rejecting the first contract that was offered to him as well? Or is he allowed to reject what he feels isn't a good enough contract, because he said no to celtic? Grow up guys. Almost every player rejects the first offer. It's the nature of the game. The club offer what they would like, the player says "no, this is what we want", and then they meet in the middle. They've still got 18 months on their contract, and they are still Rangers players!
-
No, instead he says the truth. They really should stop him talking to the press though.

Should we confine Wilson and Fleck to the reserves/sub bench
Garry88 replied to nvager's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
At last there are some people talking sense in one of these threads. Are people forgetting that Barry Ferguson also seriously considered leaving Rangers as a youngster with Smith in charge. It's fair enough saying that they have had chances, but let's look at it from their perspective. Wilson came in and was brilliant, then Boughie came back and he didn't have a look in until now. Now noone will have thought he would be playing every week from that point, and quite rightly so, he is still our third choice. But as third choice, he should still be getting game time here and there, whether off the bench or in the games against easier opposition, to give Weir a rest. From his point of view, he has until Boughie comes back, and unless there is an injury, probably won't play another game this season. Fleck, it is fair to say, hasn't had quite the same impact as Wilson, albeit mostly playing in a position which isn't his best. At the start of the season he had a run of four games together in a team that was not performing well. He didn't stand out as any worse or better than the rest of the midfield, but soon found himself dropped. He then played very well against Dundee and St Mirren, yet again found that he was dropped, and has hardly featured since. Today when he came on he made a difference, but will he start in our next match? He will probably think, not likely. Now we keep hearing how this is the best opportunity for youngsters to play at the old firm. However, on a day when we can only name 6 substitutes due to the amount if injuries we have, there was still only one youngster in the starting line up. Nobody knows what the terms of the contract were. It may not have been the money that they didn't like the look of, but more what bracket within the pay structure they were in. ie are they considered as only back up, or as squad players, who will feature in a number of games whatever the circumstances? I hope that we can hold onto both, and there is still plenty of time for them to sign a new contract. I think they may just be looking at how much gametime they get between now and the end of the season, and who will be in charge next season before they rush into the decision. -
Good comments from Hughes. I have a lot of respect for him, and the way he gets his teams playing. Shame he played for them though.

Dont be so serious Sorry, forgot myself

Beasley is playing in the position that he has previously stated as his favourite and best position. Just because he is left footed doesn't mean he has to play on the left. Or does Messi get played out of position every week?
-
Well done Walter for abandoning the negative football, and doing what the fans wanted. We're playing further up the pitch, pressurising the opposition, and passing the ball about. Just a shame that it has taken so long for him to do what we've asked for, for the last two years.

***The Official Dundee United 0 v 3 Rangers Thread***

Fair enough. I reckon that will be the team, but actually thinking that is the definite team is horrible. At least at the moment there is some hope that Walter will see sense -

Is this the line up? -
Fuck them, does anyone seriously think that the likes of Dundee United and Aberdeen aren't 110% committed to beating us anyway? Thommo could have come out and said "Dundee United are little more than a pub team and couldnae score in a barrel of fannies" and they would still not have been any MORE up for it than they normally are... Rangers ALWAYS have to play against teams dying to beat us in Scotland. How many times have you heard Rangers players saying that every game is a cup final because every team is determined to beat us?? I like that Thommo has shown a bit of confidence, almost bordering on arrogance, it may not be showing much respect but its about time we started demanding respect from other teams instead of letting them tell the world how shite we are.... Come the end of the season we will see if he is right Exactly!! They couldn't really be any more fired up, because they know it is the Rangers they are playing. You never know, a bit of intimidation may start to put doubts in their minds.
