  1. Thats one thing that bugs me about tennis, or sport in general. Murray has done superbly well this season, but because he never won a Grand Slam it's almost seen as a failure of a year.
  2. He should be in the squad! One of the most underrated footballers on the planet! He's like Michael Carrick only better. His abilty to ping a pass is unreal!
  3. Glen Johnson, even though he's poor at defending, is much better than Richards. Richards has the attention span of a 4 year old! No where near diciplined enough for the world cup. He'd get found out big time. I think you have to have Beckham in the squad. Whilst there are probably better players, his experience and influence would be huge. He lit up the park last time he came on. In a must win game, if your 1-0 up, Wright-Phillips, Lennon and Milner are all too one dimentional IMO. Wright-Phillips and Lennon in particular are players you just get the ball and run. I'd rather have Beckham, he'd use the ball better. All depends on how he gets on in Milan of course. David James should be nowhere near the team. Huddlestone has to be a shoe-in for the squard surely? If Defoe keeps up this form he's a certain starter.
  4. It used to be if he didn't score in a game he'd be better off not playing. Now, even in the games he hasn't scored, he's still performed very well! It'd be pretty mental to not offer him a new contract as soon as we're able to. He's been our best outfield player of late.
  5. I just seen the Stewart red card on SSN. I dont even know what he done?! It was even a shove or anything. He just seemed to fall and flap at the guy! Awful decision. Who was the ref anyway? I didnt recognise him.
  6. If anything he done too well for Derby. He'd be a very good candidate and I'd certainly take him. However much he might want to come here, we'd struggle to pay any sort of compensation at the moment.
  7. We need Mendes back more than Edu, however both would be ideal. McCulloch and Thomson in midfield doesn't work.
  8. He's our most in form outfield player at the moment. Its gotten to the stage where if he hasn't scored he HAS still contributed to the team! He's clearly been putting extra work in on his game and he looks fitter than he has done.
  9. :mcgregor: :whittaker: :weir: :bougherra: :papac: :davis: :thomson: :miller: :fleck: :beasley: :lafferty: Edit: Lafferty for Boyd. Forgot Boyd went off injured today. Wouldnt risk him if it's at all serious.
  10. Stoke are a team thats main focus is on power. Why they signed a fast, tricky player in Tuncay I have no idea. He could have gone to any other team in the premiarship (Possibly outwith the big 4) and been a star.
  11. If only our team would realise that if someone gets tight to Beasley then should use his pace by putting the ball in behind the defence. We just aren't creative enough in the midfield and it stops us from using Beasley and Novos pace to hurt teams. I was impressed when DMB came on, hopefully this is a sign of things to come. I'd agree with that. He has his limitations but we rarely seem to try and play to his strenths.
  12. I'm not saying he needs to bully defenders, I'm saying he needs the strengh to stay on his feet.
  13. Played well but Falkirk were always gonna give him room to operate in. Beasley plays well in the SPL if he has room to play in. As soon as someone gets tight to him he's better off not playing. People don't like to hear it but he's not strong enough to compete with defenders. Also, it's not that long ago that I seen him put in one of the worst displays I've seen in a Rangers jersey V Dundee. He did play fairly well when he came on today though
  14. McGregor Bougherra Weir Wilson Papac Davis McCulloch Ness Fleck Boyd Miller Don't think he'd play both Fleck and Ness in the midfield but I couldnt think of anyone to play on the left. Possibly Beasley.
  15. I love the one at the end. Wee slap on the face followed by full on forearm smash on the head!
  16. Exactly mate. We're in desperate times here, so we should be sticking together as a club. None of these petty remarks in the press. It achieves fuck all.
  17. I think it shows that the legends care, and hate to see players that dont care. It doesnt show they care, it shows they want publicity. In Hately's case anyway. Like I said, you can be critical all you like but if your not being constructive then its utterly pointless. It's sticking the boot in and its the total opposite of whats needed right now. Someone posted a thread a while ago about fans on this message board and "we should be sticking together" or something to that effect. That sentiment spreads far wider than just RM and everyone assossiated with the club at this time needs to be backing eachother, not firing in petty critisisms.
  18. Your logic isnt even logic! You're saying if your born in a country that isnt very good at football you can never be world class!
  19. Walter has every right to defend himself. We're having a pretty torrid time of it at the moment and the last thing this club needs is its own fucking legends sticking the boot in. Critisism without being constructive is pointless and should be saved for the shitebags that want to bring the club to its knee's.
  20. Went to school with Steven. Always been a good player. I know the commentator on Rangers TV for the reserves used to think so too! Don't see him making the step up though. Will end up a decent player for someone.
  21. This is quite a strong pot. Not too many 'easy' teams!
  22. These are an absolute fcuking joke both Portugal & France are above England & South Africa in the world rankings it seems FIFA just make things up as they go along The hosts are always seeded. Also when it comes to Portugal and France, I don't know the real reason England are seeded over them but Its pretty deserved I'd say. Both France and Portugal have been really poor lately and England have been the best they've been for some time. Damn you Davey! think its cause they both came through the play offs rather than qualifying outright Just heard they used October rankings as opposed to November. If they used November rankings, because of Frances win of ROI and Englands loss to Brazil, France would have been seeded.
