All we need to do is appeal, whether it gets overturned or not is irrelevant as it wont be heard till after the celtic match. Its the same as them appealing Loovens' ban for his assault on Edu, they had no chance of it being overturned but they had no fit centre halfs to play against Aberdeen. I don't think it should have been a red, if they were standing up and he done that it probably wouldnt even have been a booking. Saying that, I really doubt it will be overturned.

Poor quality players have to put extreme effort into their play to componsate (In a similar way to Novo) but Lafferty's commitment was awful tonight. The amout of times he backed out of a tackle was shocking.

His power and pace were fantastic. I remember watching absolutley steamroll the Hearts defence. I think it was that game the commentator described him as an ox on rollerblades!

Who's going to sit infront of the 2 centrebacks? McCulloch copes when he receives the ball but he offers little protection when the opposition has it; backs off or runs away. The times he gets close to an opponent results in a stupid foul making more pressure for the back four. Mendes is more than capable of playing the holding role. Thats his natural position. Thats the position he has excelled in for Portugal in his recent apperances. I think you'd see the best of Mendes if he sitting deep and allowed to dictate the flow of the game from there. He will also benefit from the two wide men he can pass too. Before his injury we were playing far too much down the middle and I really dont think that suits him. McCulloch was good today. He wasn't put under much pressure though and was allowed plenty of time to pick out players.

Going by his performance after he came off the bench, I think it'll take Edu a while to get up to speed so McCulloch has to start against celtic.

Same team as last week with McCulloch starting in the centre. Same attitude as the past few weeks as well! Right at them from the word go and no relenting once we've scored!

Everything I've heard suggested it was actually a handball so you can't really critisise the ref for calling it right...

It's not Walters fault that Burke and Adam didnt perform here. They both had stinking attitudes and clearly refused to change that so they were shipped out.

I loved watching Ronaldinho. He really was magical. I can watch his video's for hours. Zidane is up there as well, as well as the original Ronaldo. 3 utterly superb footballers.

After the Scottish Cup final last season I was back at Ibrox (Hospitality tickets) and we went and sat in the director's box looking out onto the pitch for a while. The players were having their party at this time and some of the kids were out playing on the pitch. Weirs wee boy actually looked very very good for his age!

He was one of the slowest players I've seen at Ibrox!

I'd have Mendes in playing in his natuaral position instead of Thomson/McCulloch. When Davis and Mendes play together you can see how much they both enjoy having another player on their wavelengh. Also, Mendes as a DM is superb. With 2 wide men and playing deeper I think you'd see the best of Mendes. There is going to be some rotation to keep players fresh etc so thats where Edu/Thomson/McCulloch come in.

Boyd 13 Miller 10 Lafferty 2 Can't see any reason to split Boyd and Miller up, regardless of who we are playing. OTOH, if we can persuade the aliens who have replaced Beasley with their own version to do the same with Lafferty, that might be different. Boyd has proven(unfortunately) to be utter crap against the filth. Lafferty has, in fact, proven to be utter crap in almost every game he has played this season. Take your blinkers off FFS. That has to be the biggest case of pot and kettle I've ever seen...

Thats the role of a defensive midfielder, particualrly one of McCulloch's ilk. The less you actually see him usually means the better we're playing. In saying that though, I actually thought his passing was pretty good. Nothing overly complicated, but what he done he done well.
