  1. Sure he would 'want to break free' from his existing contract
  2. http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/Lincoln-City-manager-targets-stars-future-summer/story-18866968-detail/story.html#axzz2SoAmKTvd Out of contract this summer according to this article... has been offered a new deal by Lincoln as one of last seasons "high performers".
  3. Not a good move if true, he hasnt really made an impact anywhere since leaving Rangers. If he has signed then that Trombetta or whatever his name is we took on trial obviously hasn't impressed.
  4. This is getting desperate.... Who next, Dragan "the Serbian Zidane" Mladenovic, anyone?
  5. Brings back memories.... always one of my favourite players back in the day.
  6. I thought so too in the previous thread on this already.
  7. He couldn't be any worse than Black or Hutton. Rememeber he was pretty decent before heading to Huddersfield.
  8. Green didnt put that money in himself, it came from his group if investors. His share of the deal was a % of shares and his salary as CEO. I still believe that Green was going to put us on the right track as a business. I think others who didnt agree with or want him as part of the set up smelt blood with the Whyte allegations and Green's silly "Paki" statement to muscle him out.
  9. If these numbers are correct, then obviously reducing this is something in practice which is difficult to execute. But if our coaching staff TUPE'd across on wages based on SPL / CL success then it makes no sense to maintain this level of compensation when we are playing in the lower echelons of Scottish football against part timers and where our best chance of cup success is in the Ramsden's Cup. Our revenue has been drastically reduced now we are not in the SPL and our entire cost base must follow suit. Perhaps if we offer our coaches a pay structure where they take a reduction on basic salary but can maintain similar levels of compensation provided certain bonus targets are met then they may entertain accepting a revised pay structure. There are many ways for this to be addressed but what is certain is that this is something our board of directors should be actively looking at.
  10. If we want to cut costs then we need to look at our coaching budget. If to be believed that Ally is on 700k then you would have to think his assistant/ first team coaches are on half that. So for Ally, Durrant and McDowell would be ~1.4m. For the level we are playing at and the team development we get in return then that would be a joke. Obviously these numbers are unsubtantiated but if true then need to be revised ASAP... there should be no one earning champions league wages for preparing a full time time professional team to play part time amateurs. If they want to keep their jobs then should accept salaries on a sliding scale dependant on level the level of football we are playing at with bonues tiered to league and cup success.
  11. This little scrote keeps digging a deeper hole for himself every time he opens his mouth. My anger has subsided somewhat with regards to McGregor, Davis etc but I will never forget Naismith and Whittaker at that press conference where they said Rangers the club is no more. They can fuck off and worry about keeping themselves warm on the bench of their respective clubs because they will never be welcome back at Ibrox, not ever after the way they stuck the knife in after the left..
  12. I had a chuckle at that... FFS he looks about 12 there and already has severe horseshoe receeding at the front
  13. These old boys also ran us up a 90m debt with profligate spending on overpriced players with little resale value. Before we ended up in a ruinous situation, getting sold for the princely sum of 1 queen's head to a spiv / shyster / conman ... what ever you want to call him, and then ultimately our business being liquidated. If this is the future course you want to follow that that is your prerogative; for me, I would prefer we chart a different course, one where we become a viable a self -sustaining business. I just cant see how the old guard can deliver on this as they keep proving time and time again to be creatures of habit.
  14. Good keeper, has been loyal to the club and a good servant. But letting him go, given he has been reported to be on ~10K/week in lower divisions is the right decision. We need to ensure we maintain a sustainable expenditure on wages until our revenue stream can justify paying this much on players. Is certainly not required for SFL-2.
  15. I am glad that I at least got the chance to read that document, it shows at least some people at the club had some vision of the way forward. However, my fear is that anyone with the balls to push it forward has now been forced out. Back to the same old boys network and a complete lack of imagination of how we can progress the club. The BBC should have been kicked out long ago, however it should not have been over this. It may have been too close to the bone for some people at Ibrox to accept.
  16. McCoist replied: “Probably not, but, if I am going to be totally selfish about it, I would have to spend it to get out of the division and keep me, Ian Durrant, Kenny McDowall and the rest of the staff in a job. What a fucking disgrace of a statement.... we have the second highest wage bill in Scotland and are playing clubs with probably 2% of our available budget and he believes we need to spend 10m to keep him and his crap coaches / buddies in a job !! I absolutely despair, we are missing a golden opportunity to reinvent ourselves by initiating a progressive plan in place which can stabilise and let the club flourish for generations to come. We need to be investing heavily in youth scouting and coaching so we can maintain a continuous conveyor belt of talent to the first team, supplemented by rough diamonds scouted from elsewhere who can be polished off and developed by a strong coaching team. This is the only way we will maintain long term sustainability in a backwater league like Scotland. With this mentality for continually spending what we have on duds with no re-sale value it will not be long before we are back in debt, living hand to mouth without the capital available to make the changes to club structure which is so desperately required. If it's to be believed that Ally is making 700K a year, then he needs to start earning it and he can start by having foresight of what we need to do and by not taking the easy road and continually bleating about budgets and the need to spend huge sums on dross. With this sort of attitude, it is not just the boardroom that needs "cleansing", but the whole entire football structure of the club from root to branch.
  17. I despair, we will never be a progressive forward thinking club with this kind of attitude. Players like Novo, Miller and Boyd have there place in the history of the club, but we need to focus on overhauling our youth scouting and coaching. We also, dare I say need to look at similar to what the filth have been doing; looking to supplement our squad with non-expensive players from outside with potential who we can sell on for a profit. Signing has beens on premium wages will do nothing to advance the club in the longer term.
  18. I thought SFL rules allow you to register players as trialists for a certain number of games... may be wrong though
  19. can probably expect mini and co to try and slink their way back onto the board too
  20. Pretty sure that was David James. Seem to recall him blaming his atrocious form for Liverpool on losing concentration because he played computer games too much, earning himself the nickname "Calamity James" in the process. What a clown...
  21. He is pretty dire isn't he. A lot of folks on here seem to rate him but for me he is one of the worst players I have seen in a Rangers jersey. Is pedestrian on the ball and has woefully inaccurate shot. He will not be around when we get back to the SPL.
  22. Sounds like someone is panicking they may miss out on the getting their share of the great Rangers gravy train next season!!
  23. "I went to Rangers for money, not the level of football, it's poor. I'll get another contract after Rangers" If the level of football is so poor, then why has he looked so rotten at this level. 2 goals this season in the 4th tier of crap Scottish football does not bode well for his hope of "getting another contract after Rangers". The only way we will get shot of this joker would no doubt be to pay him off, cant see anyone touching him with a barge pole given the wages he is on with us.
  24. Why not? Southampton made it from League 1 to the PL in 2 years... we surely would have access to far greater resources. With our fanbase and potential for growth we would be a very attractive investment for big hitters to get us into the EPL
