  1. Given we are inching closer to our takeover I thought it would be interesting to highlight the areas for immediate attention, in the style of the US presidency. 1. EXTENSIONS Contract negotiations opened immediately with the key mainstays we'd like to keep (e.g. McGregor, Davis). The manager needs some continuity and we need to know who is with us. Anyone not signing should be actively marketed at the best transfer fee possible. We NO LONGER HAVE to sell players so sales values should reflect this. 2. TRANSFERS Implement a transfer policy which only sees the club spend significant sums of money (£1m+) on players under 26 which a re-sale value. Good older players/bosmans are welcome but we shouldn't be throwing major sums at them. 3. PR Immediately hire a PR/Communications director to defend the club and the fans against this 5yr onslaught. Get back on the front foot with all comms about the club and staunchly defend our position where we have been unfairly highlighted. 4. IBROX Look to kickstart a maintenance process to return the stadium and it's environs to the level expected of Scotland's premier sporting organisation. 5. MARKETING Perhaps could be tied in with the PR role but we need to better exploit the potential revenue generating opportunities that exist to us as a club. Merchandise, glamour friendlies, match day income through the food kiosks and possibly new food/drink concessions outside the stadium. 6. Any more suggestions folks???
  2. Perhaps forward this onto Mr Whyte??
  3. Has no one from any sources (close to it, real, imagined or otherwise) found out how he is paying for this? I remain concerned that we have no idea of this guy's material worth or plans for the club. Anyone paying off the debt is a good thing but i want to know how he intends to run the club and generate revenues going forward?
  4. Long way to go - we just need to try and post 4 wins. Given the squad we have it would be beyond superlatives if we won this league. Why did we sell Miller in Jan? Nae pace in the team at all with wee Vlad out.
  5. goal difference isnt gone here - a 2-0 win for us in the OF game is worth 4 goals for example.
  6. 25m is all well and good - that clears te debt and leaves us in same place as a whyte takeover without additonal funds. It does sound like some people are trying to hang on
  7. I just find it a bit unrealistic in this day and age of "financial transparency" that we haven't seen one shred of evidence that Whyte has any kind of multiple-mullions needed to buy us. So for that reason I'm happy AJ etc have batted this back. Yes we would be better off debt free and clear of the banks influence but we probably need 10m additional to rebuild the squad now - for contracts and a few new players. If the guy actually had anything like the money presumed this would still be a bargain as Rangers assets are worth over 50m at present.
  8. Handy - probably be a decision sometime after season ticket deadline day. Farcical.
  9. Well done Craig - you kb'd 2 Rangers penalties in the cupfinal. Fancy the biggest game of the season? We're shiting it in case the tim's sue us again. The SFA
  10. All comes down to sheep surrendering 9-0 at parkhead.
  11. Rangers set to be hammered after another damning fans report from St Mirren game Pressure group's latest report leaked. Today's News of the Screws can exclusively reveal that Rangers are heading for the dock again after another pressure group CARRIE (Celtic-minded, Against, Racism/Sectarianism, Real Imagined, or Etherwise) produced another shocking report into fan behaviour at yesterday's Rangers vs St Mirren match. This paper has managed to secure a copy of the latest leaked report which could see Rangers deducted 60pts and banned from playing football, or even rowing, ever again. To: Ira Speedy (CEO of CARRIE) From: Robbie Sands (independant observer) Dear Ira I had the misfortune yesterday of having to attend a match at Mordor, Castle Greyskull (aren't they the goodies?), The Bigot Dome aka Ibrox. On arriving in the stadium environs i was in good spirits having attended an Opus meeting the previous evening with your good wife and several senior members of the Celtic Broadcasting Corporation. We voted on a tremendous plan to bring down the royal family, replacing them with a republic and Sinead O'Connor as the first president. My mood was quickly altered however as i was surrounded by heaving masses of h***, many of whom were provocatively wearing Rangers scarves and breathing in an anti celtic-minded fashion. I could tell i was in for a challenging day when i spotted one of these "animals" who initally looked like they were holding up their arm so that their child H** could spot them in the crowd. I quickly realised it was in fact a nazi salute and he was trying to encourage his bastard offspring in his anti-semitism. Disgusting observation no.1. Next i spotted a woman with what i thought was a satchel over her shoulder before the chilling realisiation hit me - it was actually a sash disguised as a bag - the inhumanity. I made my way through further crowds of these animals before heading into the stadium with my notepad and recorder set to stun! The sectarian singing was already in full voice. A rousing rendition of Follow Follow was underway which all Celtic-minded fans understand to be about the mass murdering Pied Piper proddie who used to play a tune on his flute encouraging poor unsuspecting Celtic-mindeds to follow him into great danger. Would i have enough lead in my pencil to report all these hideous human rights abuses i wondered? To my absolute horror i then heard the initial strains of the most hate filled of anthems - yes they sang God Save the Queen. I had to squirm in my seat for almost 2minutes as the national anthem of my country of birth was ringing out loud and clear. Don't they realise how scared this makes a Celtic-minded Scotsman, born and bred in Britain, as they belt out their nationalistic bile? I had to hum the tune of the Boys of the Old Brigade under my breath to stem my panic. That tune has fond memories for me as my great-great-great-great grandfather, the last member of my family to visit Ireland, picked up the song on his travels and its been passed down since. I thought it fortunate that i didn't have any children because if i did, and if they happened to actually be with me, hypothetically of course, i'm certain they would have been in tears by this point. Undettered i fingered the elastic of my Henrik Larsson boxer shorts to soothe me and continued my important work. As i looked around them laughing, talking and egging on their team i understood why us Celtic-minded prefer to refer to them as "animals" in our songs. Anyway Ira - i feel i have posted enought damning evidence for at least a 6pt point deduction although ideally we could have these h*** banned from football worldwide? To: Robbie Sands (independant observer, member of Opus, and the Lurgan CSC) from : Ira Speedy (CEO of CARRIE) Tremendous report Robbie, i could barely type it out fast enough as i struggled to fire off copies to UEFA, FIFA, the SPL, the SFA (spit!), the NBA, UNICEF and Sinn Fein. The wife sends her regards by the way. Sinead for President! Your usual payment of corporate hospitality for your family at Paradise is in the post. On a seperate note i'm looking forward to the the Lurgan CSC end of season bash this year. Instead of signing autograph's the great one will be spitting on H** scarves and mouthing DOB's to all fans bringing said offensive article. I believe he will then speak to NATO on the damaging effects of sectarianism in Glasgow.
  12. I've already emailed FARE, did it when the first charges were reveealed - with the picture from Parkhead of that cretin making monkey gestures at Diouf. Copied in record and sun sportsdesks - no response so far. But I will make it my new hobby. Not sure I'm for sitting in amongst them though - but animals, h*** etc needs to be gone after with all our resources. Perhaps wait till their next Euroa League away qualifier.
  13. They never can - think it's because there is only one camera at the games and no production budget!!
  14. I know Tom (Tam) - he was a mate of my dad's and also hails originally from Coatbridge I believe. Really nice guy, good fun in the pub. Although could do with a commentary sidekick to stop him rambling so much!!
  15. Every away game between now and end of season will be like that. We're down to the bare bones and still getting results. We've now got 4 homes and 3 aways to go. Tims 2 home games and 5 away.
  16. Why are the BBC even giving him a platform? He's supposedly speaking on behalf of himself rather than Celtic so why ask him anything??? He's a QC who has at times defended Celtic staff.
  17. Didn't he release a song called "Things, can only get better" in the 90's.
  18. We've now got 4 home gams and 4aways between now and the end of the season - with several tough games in there. Interestingly though Celtic will have 6 of their last 8 games away from home - a big ask in any title run-in. With the top 6 now decided who are we due to play away again?
  19. What in particular is a load of shite TWB?
  20. Thanks for that D'Art - i've emailed this crusading organistaion with that picture, copying in the Sun and Daily Record, and asking that they bring the full weight of their moral outrage to bear against the disgusting racism shown by that particular Celtic fan.
  21. Is this Shug, the venture capitalist, entrepreneur and multi-millionaire or wee Shug fae the pub.
  22. Employee Benefit Trusts have been regularly proven to be legal within the current tax framework by specialist tax barristers. I work with highly paid contractors, many of whom have exploited this option. rangers have done nothing wrong with the current legislation!! HMRC, as they tend to do, are now looking to retrospectively have them ruled against - it's ridiculous. It's like you were stopped by the police at Xmas and breathalysed - yet only had .5mg of alcohol in your system when the limit is .6mg so free to go. 3yrs later they change the limit to .4mg and try and do you from the earlier incident.
  23. Yes he's funny in that he changed the name he was born with.
