  1. Bullard one of the best midfielders in the Premiership? Firstly he's never played in a decent side and his ability to look good is boosted by being surrounded by lesser players (no change if he goes to them then). Secondly he's the sort of player we would be signing in the late 90s i.e. injury prone and a waste of wages. So Stan Petrov's returning because his wife wants to go back to, not Glasgow, but Celtic? Aye she might not like the midlands but i'm sure it's not Celtic she's longing for. Boruc and Samaras away will be a sad day for all the laughs they provide us, but seriously is Mizuno still there? The new Naka turned out to be simply the new Mizuno (as in trainers) - cheap and shit. And Bellamy coming in on a season long loan with a defensive mid from one of the top four in England. Where to stare. Firstly as if City are going to allow him to move on loan when they could recoup the money spent on him by flogging him to 'Arry. Their also hardly building for the future with another raft of loan signings, hopefully they live up to the stellar supporting cast they borrowed last season. I'm sorry but is it not meant to be us that can't afford to buy players? Long live Lawell! His inadequacies continue to service our club even in dark financial times.
  2. Wish he had gotten a proper chance with us Why? He wasn't good enough as a youngster for us and he's hardly done enough to suggest that he'd be worth a punt now. Neither him or Lee Miller are good enough, though I think it could come down to what we can afford.
  3. I blame the 11 + subs that bottled it in the away game against Georgia in the game before the Italy one. They had a 16 or 17 year old in goals and we didn't work the keeper until the second half. Shambles. If we'd won that game we'd have been there.
  4. Yeah it's like Nike Pro or Under Armour shirts but built into the strip to cut out on an unnecessary layer and extra weight.
  5. Nonsense. They're outstripping the original dream team of the early 90s, and are better than the Ajax team of the mid 90s. I'd put them up there with the Milan side of the late 80s til 94 who aside from this Barca side have been the best side I have watched. As for the league gap being reduced as someone mentioned. 38 games played, 6 drawn and 1 lost. The gap has not really been reduced, Real stepped up this season but how far ahead were both of them from Valencia? Real had to spent a ridiculous amount of money to try and bridge the gap, but Barca showed that they are just too good. Even with injuries at times they stayed true to their philosophy to play good football. If it wasn't for a couple of suspect decisions in the Semis they'd also be going for back to back Champions League.
  6. They'll be watching what happens with us over the summer. If we get taken over and Smith stays with money they won't give it to Lennon, if Smith goes Lennon doesn't seem like such a bad (read expensive) choice for them, and if Smith stays but without the finances to improve the team it'd expect them to give Lennon the job with some money to make up for the lack of experience against Sir Walter.
  7. I don't think the result helped things, but I think the fact that the last two seasons has seen the title decided on the last day helped with the excitement, this year it was just a case of give us the title and let's head off for the summer during the last two games.
  8. Sticks and stones, eh? There's just a wee bit of a difference between singing a song that's maybe lacking a wee bit in taste and getting gobbed at. Tell you what, you start singing in the street and see how you react if someone spits at you. If it's true, it's an disgusting act from a disgusting excuse for a man. I've got mixed feelings about this one. If somebody was singing to me in the street - no problem. If they were singing about the death of my Father - I think I'd do more than gob on them. The guys still a tit though. If there were fans singing about his dads death they deserve than more than just being spat at. Some things are bigger than football.
  9. I agree, a wee clear out will open up the space for Messi, Rooney, Villa et al at the club for next season. Honestly though, get a grip. This time last week we were wondering if we were going to be able to bring any players in, now all of a sudden the Ellis deal is moving forward you're calling for a mass cull and a large outlay on new players. Sorry how have we gotten into financial problems again? Leave the organising of the playing squad to the manager, after all he's brought us 6 trophies in 3 years.
  10. That is also my favourite moment. Perhaps some time we could get together and discuss it? Can I get in on this meeting? I've got a great tale about the guy behind me singing about him for the 5 or so minutes he was on. Maybe great is a stretch too far.
  11. Davis went to right back as Whittaker had to shuffle inside and cover McCulloch after the sending off. Davis has shown he's capable of covering that role when Whittaker bombs forward so I fail to see the problem here. As for bringing Boyd on - we were dominating the midfield for the last 25 mins, cutting open their defence and Miller was unlucky twice, and if it hadn't have been for Wilson getting a stud to Whittakers cross Edu would have had a tap in. Boyd would be unlikely to get into those positions, would have slowed down the play, and forced us to change our shape when we were playing well.
  12. I disagree. Celtic were better than their usual standards this season because they've be given a bit more fight by Lennon, but they were still no great shakes. They got lucky with both their goals, whereas we were unlucky in front of goal (summed up by a handball and hitting the post within a matter of seconds). We passed well at times once we got a grip of the midfield. Oh, and McGeady has highlighted once again at he is a cheating little bastard. I only got the last 25 minutes but we were cutting the open at the back and were unlucky not to snatch a few goals. Just saw the Fortune goal and the keeper is awful there, but for the amount of games he's played it's hardly unsurprising, especially as he's came on as a sub and won't be properly prepared mentally. As for the O'Dea handball and McGeady dive, as Neil McCann just said Celtic have moaned about it. I'm not bothered by it, we didn't get the decisions, we move on, and at the end of the day it doesn't matter. Hopefully the result will see Lennon get the job on a full time basis, because he may have turned around their results in the league but they still look shocking, and at the back are there for the taking.
  13. I was down in Blackpool yesterday to catch Biffy live and saw a fair few local folk with them on.
  14. They'll be watching what happens with us over a manager next season. If Smith stays then they need to go out and pay money to get a decent standard of manager, but if McCoist takes the reigns with us then Lennon seems less of a gamble for them.
  15. I don't want to condone the actions of what WAS a minority of the fans there that day, but what do you expect to happen when the pitiful provisions put in place break down/were turned off and you have ringfenced around 100,000 people into the centre of the city? Why did they not utilise Old Trafford, the Commonwealth Cycling Velodrome and the M.E.N. Arena to hold big screens and disperse some of the crowd from the centre of the city into different areas of the city, making it easier to police? Manchester Council and the local Police force need to stop playing up like they were angels over the situation, violence of that sort cannot be condoned but it could have been prevented if they had listened to the club and put proper provisions in place for the fans! After all is it not the stadium and the ability of the city to hold a final that is the basis on winning a bid to host a final?
  16. He spent the money SDM gave him to spend. What was he meant to do, knock it back? Have us mirror Arsenal - a good team who just fell short because they never invested enough. Our financial mess is down to Murray, not Advocaat. McClelland had the debt back down before Murray came back to the club and oh wait what happened? Oh yes more debt.
  17. One of thems going to have to be this time, if not both, as Guillame was saying that he was being told that Pellegrini would be staying as coach next year.
  18. this is an adidas template from season 07/08. My favourite part of this is that it will be available only from JJB Sports yet is clearly copied from here
  19. That's kind of the reason you should always break your new boots in by wearing them about the house before the first time you play in them.
  20. He was doing no such thing. He was telling Kev where to stick the ball, if he had listened it would've been 2-0
  21. ... At number 1 is Lafferty, number 2 is Lafferty...
  22. No money. No signings. No contracts. No problem! Well done to all the players and especially the management team. Get SIR Walter Smith signed up for next year now, here's to 3 in a row next year.
  23. They're talking about paying around that for the likes of Adler, but I doubt Gordon would cost more than £9 million again seeing as he was bought before the economic downturn which every club in football is feeling unless your City, Chelsea or Madrid.
