  1. Even though I can't ever remember him playing left back for us? He was still a centre mid until he left us. Also where in Spain is Rotterdam?
  2. There was talk of a loan deal 2 seasons ago IIRC before he really broke through properly.
  3. Game will be off!!! Forecasting -20c for the weekend. Just been on Sky Sports News that it's in doubt. They showed the pitch at New Douglas Park and its under a thin blanket of snow, surely a team in the SPL should have a covering for the grass as well as under soil heating. Doesn't look like Hamilton are making any attempt to see the game go ahead. With us having to go there again the following week, and the weather showing no signs of breaking I wonder if the two clubs will consider switching the fixture to Ibrox then switching the game on the 3rd of April to New Douglas Park in an attempt to avoid a fixture pile up. Though it would mean us having a run of 3 away games before the split. I think Dundee did this for their last league match.
  4. You're right Laudrop did put the tools away, in all honest Laudrop never contributed much at all in his time with us. Now Laudrup on the other hand, his diminished returns in his final season is probably more down to the fact that he spent over half the season taking pain killing injections to get through games rather than being allowed a few weeks rest to recover from injury.
  5. The way our finances are though it'll be looked at as £1.35 million + around 18 months of wages, £1.5 million, saved so will roughly be a £3 million deal. Also I thought he was more around the £2.5 million mark in transfer fee. In an ideal world i'd like to keep a hold of him and see him and davis in the centre with novo and beasley on the wings, especially for the next old firm game, but as we don't live in an ideal world he seems like one of the best choices to ship out to decrease the wage bill.
  6. higher than that, it's roughly £1.35 million
  7. I know that he was said to have had discussions with the board about stepping down once earlier this season. Hopefully all that's behind him now though and he can stay on and build a team that is capable of competing for second place not just this season, but for the next 4 or 5.
  8. Thought he did something, he certainly turned round! He half turned round and stuck a thumb up.
  9. Bang on line with it at the game today and everyone around me was shocked and relieved that it wasn't given. The linesman was half way to the half way line when he noticed the ref had called for a foul. Thought McGregor looked a bit hesitant going for the ball and it was a bit of a soft foul. Fuck it though, didn't cost us a goal!
  10. Could get it alone for that header in the Scottish Cup Final, but he scored a fair few crackers in Europe too that live long in the memory. Though the man beside him would be in with a shout too.
  11. Firstly it should be 'an' not 'a'. Secondly why are the evil because they are against what we stand for? Which is what exactly? It actually saddens me the amount of ignorance that surrounds the Old Firm rivalry these days. I can't remember who it was that said it when they talked about how there was begrudging respect in the past, but this now just seems to have been replaced by vile hatred perpetrated by ignorance and sheer stupidity. I don't hate Celtic, I don't care about them. Yes I enjoy a win over them more because they are our rivals, but I don't feel the need to revel in their defeats, or suggest that certain sectors of society are biased towards them... who cares? Our football club should be able to rise above such things, and look ahead not behind. Though maybe this will simply be construed as being too open, and wide, minded... though no doubt in a way that will construe me to be 'one of them'.
  12. Surely there is more to this article? I mean there's no thinly veiled pointing to a conspiracy of the highest order being the cause of why we score more goals and concede less from fewer shots by us, and more shots against us.
  13. So he will be able to play? Unless they decide to deal with it outside of there office hours...... The BBC coverage said there are special mechanisms in place to deal with the appeal, but the simple fact is unless Willie Collum says he could have made a mistake there is no appeal. When he says no it was definitely a red in his mind then the appeal is dead in the water and Miller is banned.
  14. The boy made one mistake, even the great keepers make them. I remember Buffon making a similar, all be it slightly bigger howler against Newcastle in the Champions League and he rose from it. Let's give the boy a break and look at in the context of he made a slight mistake in a game we won by 6 goals, hardly material to get dropped over.
  15. The appeal won't come to anything as Collum won't change his mind as he will think he got the decision right.
  16. Would rather more actual Rangers songs sang.
  17. Was pointed out on the radio today that Hibs are on a 12 match unbeaten run. However what wasn't pointed out is that they've not beat us at Easter Road in the league since September 2006, though our last two games against them (at both ground) have been 1-1 draws, hopefully do better than that on sunday. As for Dundee Utd they've not beaten us since April 2005 at Ibrox, and since Walter's came back we've won 4 from 5 of our games against them at Ibrox.
  18. I doubt that. I'd be surprised if we don't pay at least some of his wages, if not all.
  19. I was surprised he lasted 90 mins at the weekend never mind another 90 3 days later after being out for so long, but it says a lot about his attitude and willingness to work. I remember finding out that the summer we signed him he hired a fitness coach to work with him during the break between the end of the last season and pre season training so that he would be up to standards for joining the club. Hopefully having his sort of attitude back on the pitch will rub off and help us keep this run going through the upcoming run of games.
  20. Maybe but it could also be down to the fact that players like Burke and Adam will be under a lot less pressure down South. The nature of the Championship is such that most teams are of a similar standard, so even those challenging for promotion aren't expected to win week in week out like we are.
  21. I can already guess the answer to this but does anyone know if when we let Chris Burke move to Cardiff on a free if we insisted on getting a percentage on any future fee they got for him? Players like him, Charlie Adam (although I know we got a fee for him) and Ross McCormack were clearly thought of as good enough players to be at Ibrox until the age they were at, so clearly although they may not have fulfilled their potential here the coaches at the club spotted potential in them that it would not have been surprising that they may fulfil that potential elsewhere at which point we could have reaped some sort of financial benefit with such a clause. Though then again those in charge of financial aspects relating to our club are a bit suspect at best so maybe to them such an idea has never occurred.
  22. Alexander Broadfoot Weir Bougherra Papac Novo Davis Thomson Beasley Miller Boyd
  23. Arsenal youngster. Played left back against Olympiakos.
